Crazy but exciting week, glad to be on the back end of it. After 6 years I’m moving to a new job here in 2 weeks, and after 10+ years of working 70-80 hour weeks I’m glad to finely have something that’s not that. Guess I’ll have time to develop a non-work personality finally 🤔

My pronunciation of Florida told them I’m not from Florida… despite living in Florida 🤣

Book fact: Read is read as read unless you mean read which of course is read as read.

Hear me out. 2027 I want Mega-Meld; just like 6 cards that I’ll never get out at the same time but that I can mechanically meld together and flip into a whole ass scene box of a boss monster.

So I didn’t play in the Hobbit prerelease at my LGS but I did have dwarves that were strengthened with an older guy with magical powers soooo same thing?

Forget about filming creator loot hordes. I just want to record an extremely silly idea, that involves 0 product and some of my friends.

I’m just a boy with a dream.

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

So let’s do some math here. I took 5 work days off for GenCon. During that time my office sent me 852 text messages (I counted). 852/5=170 a day (rounded for simplicity) They work 8-5 or 9 hours. 170/9=19 per hour. Y’all they text me every 3 f*ckin minutes. I want my PTO back 😒

The Midwest is out here trying to lure me in with its delightful summer temperatures. Meanwhile it’s already 80 degrees at my house and barely sunrise.

Touched down in Indy a few days early to catch up with family and friends. I can literally see the convention center from my hotel room window. Closest GenCon hotel room yet!

Wizards has given me the perfect commanders for two of my favorite cards in back to back sets now. I’ve never been so ready to cause problems!

010

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

Cleaning up the office a bit and came across this little guy from @flavorpromatt.bsky.social He’s a strange enabler considering his well documented feeling on vehicles and them as a commander… 🚚

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Do I bring a Magic deck to #GenCon next weekend? 🤔 I usually bring 1-2, but it’s been a mixed bag as to whether or not I get a game in.

3 more days until I’m off work for Gen Con and I’m so ready for a vacation 😭 Who am I going to see there?

000

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

So what are we excited for out of the 2027 in-universe sets? I’m so hyped for Nauctis and all the concept art they showed off! The only downside is my wife is a big Hakbal player so I’m worried about her seeing all the tools she’ll get to weaponize against me. 🫣

000

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

To be fair I’m mildly ok with this design, because it’ll just end up being Blue + one color spellslinger, but stop trying to get rid of my color identity lmao.

Imagine having a community that was vocally against the proposed hybrid mana rules change and then introducing this. Oh wait.

Just wait until you all experience Florida commander, where meth is for blockers. And also attackers.

So I’m not going to Amsterdam, but just throwing it out there that I’m willing to fold into someone’s luggage. I’m very portable in a large, cumbersome sort of way.

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Do we think I’ve go enough time before GenCon to attempt a spontaneously whimsical idea? 🤪

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

As a guy on the internet who’s on the fringe of the MTG community I’m going to need Mexico to beat England tonight. Because 1) it’s July 4th weekend so boo England boo, and 2) @calaveracosplay.bsky.social is going to destroy the internet if they don’t (also if they do, but in more of a fun way).

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

Just started typing the word vector into my phone and predictive text suggested I meant to say Vorthos. I’ve never had more confirmation that I’m walking the right path in life.

020

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 22/06/2026

So there’s definitely a magic/multiverse Marvel MTG set coming out right? Only Dr.Strange card is him as a surgeon? No Agatha? No America Chavez?

Cory @sleevecard.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

Think I’m going to spend my Marvel pre-release weekend trying Rivals for the first time. I don’t play a lot of FPS style games, but I love Marvel so why not 🤷‍♂️ Or I could go try and capture that elusive platinum trophy for Lego Marvel Superheroes that evaded my grasp years ago 🤔

As someone who’s managed 35 years of not sexually harassing people, it’s not that hard y’all. Don’t do it, and don’t defend people who do.
