It's our second spooky stream of spooky month, as I start playing some horror games I've been meaning to for forever but haven't. First up, the atracknophobia of Choo-Choo Charles! www.twitch.tv/slazoking

#SlazoCollection Day 722. Sonic Heroes! My favourite 3D Sonic! An opinion that has broken friends of mine previously. But anyone who doesn’t sing along to the main theme is dead inside. And now I own it again, so look forward to me streaming this in November!

#SlazoCollection Day 721. Ratchet & Clank comics! One of few video game comics I've bought, largely because I just happened to see these in Forbidden Planet. And then got to learn that monthly comic releases usually aren't monthly. Still, these were a nice fusion of the PS2 and PS3 eras of Ratchet.

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 720. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time! The only M&L game I've actually beaten, though goddamn, the final boss took me about a week. So. Much. Health. While a step down from Superstar Saga, it's still a lotta fun and has some fun dual-screen uses.

#SlazoCollection Day 719. Übel Popup Parade! Hey past Slazo, good news, Übel did get a Popup Parade figure in the end. And she’s even in the manga currently. Just a few more months and we’ll actually get the next volume…

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Finished Fly Me To The Moon vol 8! Every time you think "ah, now we must be confronting something and progressing the story", Hata laughs at you and continues to do whatever he wants and oh look more new characters we're never going to do plot are we.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 718. Picross 3D & Picross 3D Round 2! Picross in the third dimension, what will those crazy puzzle makers think of next. There is a huge charm to picking away at blocks to reveal the ornate little sculptures inside though. Until the hard puzzles and the nightmares begin.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 717. Burn The Witch! A new Tite Kubo series, what fun, I mused. And yeah, it's pretty alright. And then it stopped after a few chapters. "It'll come back", they said. It did not. Hopefully Bleach London will return in some form when Bleach Hell Arc *definitely* happens.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 716. Big Brain Academy! The original Brain Training knockoff, I mean, the original Big Brain Academy! Beating the games within was easy, doing it speedily enough to get top marks was a challenge, even in those days at the peak of my mental maths prowess.

020

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 715. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind! I believe the only Ghibli film I own physically? I've considered buying others before, but the high price points always put me off. And while I think Nausicaä has flaws, it has stuck with me like no other Ghibli film has over the years.

020

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 714. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2! For years we told them to just re-release the classic Tony Hawk’s games, and eventually they listened, and oh hey, this was great. Then they immediately stopped listening and went back to churning out CoD games. Sigh.

021

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Of course I wake up to discover the kettle's broken on my day off. Of. Fucking. Course.

111

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 713. Zero Two Nendoroid! “But Slazo, you did this one ages back” No that was the pilot suit version, this is normal Zero Two, they’re *very* different. I’d totally wear this getup in real life though given half the chance.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It has definitely been a Thursday. But luckily, I'm on 3 day weekends this month so can reeeeelaaaaax

000

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 712. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour! I had a real golf kick during this generation in gaming, and when not doing Tiger Woods games or the N64 version, this was a blast. The Ring Shot / Ring Attack modes remain in my memory to this day...

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

It's always lovely how each new Firefox update fucks up something. It's fine guys, I didn't want to see half my bookmarks anyway.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 711. .hack//Cell! Somehow, this and a 4koma anthology are the only experiences I have of .hack, as the games and anime largely passed me by. My distant memories of this pair of books is that they were alright, but I wasn't a fan of the big twist reveal later on.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 710. Super Pokémon Rumble! I... never got how the Rumble series got so many entries. Maybe it was simple to make compared to other spinoffs? Like, they're okay games, but did we really need a half dozen of them?

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

It is staggering how badly translated some of the story scenes in Nikke are. Just did one in ch14 where no-one who speaks English wouldn't have spotted multiple important contextual lines just aren't there. "You're at gunpoint" *next line* "They're unconscious, lets go"

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 709. VG Cats! "Volume One" we laugh. To its credit, VG Cats was a brilliant webcomic way back when, hence why it was one of the first I bought in physical form, and the phrase "Mr. Potatomoto" still lives rent free in my head.

031

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 708. Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Everyone is here! Until the DLC, but I suspect we’ll get an Ultimate++ or some such on the Switch 2 with all of that included. And to its credit, this is the closest they’ve ever come to besting Melee, so who needs Smash 6.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Finished Fly Me To The Moon vol 7! Very kissy wissy in this volume for sure, and much more focused on the lead pair than the side cast. Still no plot development though. That has to come eventually... right?

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

No stream today sadly, had a headache all morning, and while it's definitely receding now, not enough that I could fully lock in to streaming. We'll be back next week for spooky October schenanigans!

110

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 707. Jeanne d’Arc Alter Nendoroid Doll! I’ve never really been fussed by the Nendo Dolls, but Jalter is Jalter, so I’ll make an exception for her. Even if she didn’t show up for me on her recent banner so mine remains stuck at NP3…

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 706. Halo 3! One of the first Xbox 360 games I owned, and one of the first shootybangs I played. Which explains why I was so bad at it. I still remember on my first playthrough needing someone to guide me through the second level as I'd gotten completely lost...

110

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

So scheduling up the next batch of #TrashMangaFriends social posts, and discovered Meta now only allows 2 links per *month* unless you pay them a bajillion dollars. Fuck me social media companies are morons.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 705. Pokémon Heroes: Latios and Latias! The fifth Pokémon movie, and personally I'd say it's in the top three with Power of One and Rise of Darkrai. I rewatched this DVD so many times, from the cool full length Master Quest theme through to its emotional ending. Beautiful film.

020

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 704. Bloody Roar: Primal Fury! More games for the ever growing Gamecube collection. Though you can tell how out of touch with fighting games I am as I’d never heard of this series, despite this being the fourth entry in the franchise.

121

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 703. The Girl On The Train! Yeah, this book was... something. While I'm sure there are good ways to do the unreliable narrator trope, this wasn't it, as your barely tolerable lead semi-drunkenly navigates events and you realise within pages you really don't care for her plight.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

That Destiny 2 news is insane, can't believe I'm actually going to get to go back to it and play everything.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 702. The Legend of Legacy! Never take an interest in JRPGs folks, you’ll be collecting them forever. This is also another one with the Atlus logo on it but isn’t actually an Atlus game, they didn’t even publish it over here, just localised it.

#SlazoCollection Day 701. Mew plushie! Good ol’ 151. I did get Mew off a friend to complete my Red Pokédex, and then another at the insanely well attended roadshow event when Emerald came out. Though I think Snap’s version is the one that’ll always stick with me, a brilliant final boss to that game.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 700. Animal Crossing: Wild World! My most played and favourite Animal Crossing game! While it lacked the villager side-quests element from the original, it made up for this with so many QoL changes and tons more content, becoming a massive time sink I played for years.

010

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 699. Amaterasu Popup Parade! Okami being this niche cultural sensation of gaming has been great to watch over the years. Never a big time series, but never forgotten either. Beautiful.

020

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 698. Star Ocean: The Last Hope! From that brief period of the 360 being the place to be for JRPGs. And like most of them... yeeeaaaaah. This was my first experience playing Star Ocean, and... well, it was a while before I went back, let's say that.

121

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Finished Fly Me To The Moon vol 6! A new character, a pet, a theme park adventure, it's mad to think there's so much happening and yet no plot progression whatsoever. Hata please. A crumb, I beg.

000

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 697. Munchkin! Played this at uni many moons ago, and was enamoured enough to pick up a copy for myself... which has then barely ever been played as too complex for family and what's a meetup post-pandemic. Ah well.

#SlazoCollection Day 688. Gladius! Sometimes when I’m games shopping I have to double check if I own something or not. No such issue here, a game I’d never heard of to add to my Gamecube collection, though reviews make out its some fun B-tier stuff.

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 687. Plains of the Purple Buffalo by *shels! It was back on the good ol' ONM forums where someone by complete chance recommended a song off this album, Butterflies (On Luci's Way), and I loved it so much I had to get the whole thing, which is just as excellent.

Always a good day when it only take a couple of minutes to make whipped cream, instead of like a quarter hour.

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I may have hit 100 streams, but Bers' is now celebrating 12 years! And that's at least a couple more than me.

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

#SlazoCollection Day 694. Super Mario 64 DS! The first version of this game I 100%'d, extra stars and all. It's easy when you can Luigi backflip past all the hard parts. Plus playing the multiplayer of this on school bus trips rocked, as I perfected using Yoshi on Peach's Slide to win everytime.

020

Sean "Slazo" Hickman @slazo.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

So, er, just realised I did that entire 100th stream on my VPN. Oops. Probably why there were connection issues in the middle. >_>
