Haven’t seen my watch in three days and something tells me it’s do to with this guy… if you were a beagle puppy where would you hide all my stuff?

My mom is up for a visit. Taking her out for a meal and she’s dressed up in a lovely orange dress. “You look nice mom… just like a solero!” Apparently this is not a compliment.

Four weeks of headship and I could already write a book on the things I’ve dealt with 😂😂 Really enjoying it though… kinda looking forward to the summer holidays when they come at the same time. It’s a crazy job but good for the soul on the most part.

On my first day as head I went and introduced myself to every class. I said things like ‘if you see me lost in the corridor please help me find my way’ etc… since that time I get asked if I’m lost about 50 times a day. Even when I’m sat in my office! 😂Kids are brilliant!

Yeah I agree. If you go in as a purist then you may find fault but it’s still great TV

Marianne the whole series is just honestly wonderful. And completed perfectly I urge you to read the rest. You will not be disappointed

I mean I can’t look past Crookhaven! One of its charms is its positive relationships between young people.

I’ve been meaning to check out the land of never endings!

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

It’s always a firm favourite with the children too. It’s in our school curriculum.

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

I will check it out for sure! And there’s always room for the murderers ape

This one immediately came to mind but I thought it would come to a lot of people so tried to pick ones a little different. But yes I love this one

120

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

Yes to both of these and that’s so interesting because both are great premises for fantasy and sci-fi but bring slightly different things!

121

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

Oooo yes a proper range! Haven’t come across Splinter and Ash!

I think identifying that is what is really important for building long lasting readers.

Loved ship of shadows and the follow up. I need to start a campaign for more because the series never actually finished and not sure why?

Loved secrets of the Snake stone!

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

There are lots of crossovers. I had lots to choose from so ended up trying to have a range of sub genres

000

Mr Tom Slattery @slatterymr.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

I agree it’s a versatile genre that compliments others really well. When I was choosing some recommendations they all have additions: some fantasy, steampunk, historical…

I’ve just researched definitely a story of survival! I’ll check them out!
