Same. Hard to accept a world where any rando can have their own flying fusion bomb. The danger from bad actors might be moderated by how bright an active fusion reactor must be tho - everyone can see it coming soon enough to blow it up in time.

Been working on the tutorial for a few days and needed a break so I decided to do a refresh of some older ship models starting with the ubiquitous Starsprite Corvette. What do you think?

Two light blue spacecraft with conical noses, and a cylindrical midsection. One marked "new" is sleeker with a more spherical and detailed engine at the rear. The other, marked "old", is chunkier, thicker and has a less detailed, more cylindrical engine.

I find myself wanting new, easy to grasp terms for game A/I to avoid association with LLMs and gen-A/I in convos. NPCs maybe, but not everyone knows that term. Computer controlled enemies? Algorithmic assailants? Thinkin buddies? It's strange to have to explain the difference these days.

Looking really cool so far. It does look like fun! Mine ended up at just over 2 minutes and seems like a decent length for YouTube in terms of retention but I ended up making a shorter version for other platforms where 2 min felt excessive or was too large a file to upload.

Nailed it! Power generation is now based on the difference between reactor temperature and coolant temperature so there’s actually a good reason to run your reactor hot and keep your coolant cold. I’d like to get some of yall a test build soon to play around with that change

Ah yeah the ships don’t have FTL drives and aren’t ever really accelerated to light speed. Interstellar transit happens through cultivated wormholes that the ships slip into and out of

For this #screenshotsaturday I did some #WIP previs for a warp-in animation as ships spawn into the combat level. Next steps are to add more variance, some dirtiness, longer travel distance in the stretch portion and to refine the blue flash. Overall a pretty cool first pass! #indiegame #solodev
