Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 09/06/2025Thank you Torsten for your service to try and make the most of our country. I really enjoyed your book and wish you the best as a new MP. The way your book talks about things is exactly what I want from someone in government. 000
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Hi @geoffnorcott.bsky.social, I wrote a (very short) blog post a couple months ago on a very similar topic to what you discuss in the latest podcast. It would be great if you could have a read! medium.com/@skydivingpu...medium.comA challenge to the progressive media, think differently to arrest the rise of a toxic “manosphere”To help arrest the rise of a toxic “manosphere”, as I man, I challenge the progressive media in 2025 to establish a space for liberal… 100
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 25/02/2025@joshsimonsmp.bsky.social listened to MP Josh Simons on @newsagents.bsky.social today. I thought he was impressively articulate on tough topics. Having a Google, an impressive CV too. Seems like one to watch for the future. Very grateful when impressive people choose to serve the country. 000

Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 11/01/2025I wrote a relevant article over Xmas (that 1 person has read...) but thought you might like to spend the 2 mins reading bsky.app/profile/skyd... 000
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 11/01/2025I think you made a great point, eloquently, about a Minister for Men on Politics Live and I rate the courage of saying what you think and going against the grain. It's a shame that that coverage ended getting overblown by the reaction of the pillock Lawrence Fox 110
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 11/01/2025Hi Geoff. Though I am centre left, I am a politics junkie and enjoy listening to a variety of perspectives, especially when humour is involved. I love your podcast and also really enjoyed your audiobook, The British Bloke Decoded. 100
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/01/2025I wrote an article. I would love to know what people think? medium.com/@skydivingpu...medium.comA challenge to the progressive media, think differently to arrest the rise of a toxic “manosphere”To help arrest the rise of a toxic “manosphere”, as I man, I challenge the progressive media in 2025 to establish a space for liberal… 020
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024It would save people money and help them eat less. 010
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024... The argument against banning special offers on junk food is that it would make it more expensive for people. I completely disagree, it would make it cheaper. If they had to charge a consistent unit price, manufacturers would make the small packets much cheaper... 110
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024... Make certain junk foods have to charge a constant unit price for a given product. I.e. irrespective of the size of a packet of hobnobs, the price per hobnob is the same. ... 110

Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Big bug bear of mine is council tax. I live in a 2 bedroom flat (£337k) and my sister lives in a 4 bedroom house with a garden (£870k), and we pay the same council tax... 100
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Also, really enjoyed your (audio)book. I'm very grateful that educated, sensible and well-intentioned people like you decide to make the personal sacrifices to serve as an MP. I look forward to you serving as a minister hopefully soon 100
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 01/12/2024It would be great to try and address the huge amount of tax avoidance by cash transactions. My barber openly charges £15 in cash and £16 on the card machine to incentivise cash transactions. For those handling cash, it must be very tempting to take money out the till for groceries etc. 110
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 25/11/2024@lewisgoodall.com I'd love to hear your thoughts? 010
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 25/11/2024@lewisgoodall.com deserves credit for some well researched, frontline pieces for the @thenewsagents.com but I just don't see how it's possible for people to be informed citizens from the spotty coverage of news podcasts. 110
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 25/11/2024My favourite news programme is @evanhd.bsky.social's PM on radio 4. He is a very good journalist and presenter but, crucially, is also backed by a vast organisation with many researchers and correspondents to draw upon. This allows consistent, in-depth analysis on a broad range of topics. 110
Skydiving Turtle @skydiving-turtle.bsky.social · 25/11/2024Does the latest episode from @thenewsagents.com highlight the problem with news podcasts? It's undeniably fronted by 3 impressive journalists, but podcasts are not backed by the resource required for consistent broad in-depth coverage, resulting in frothy, easily researched, viral topics. 120
