There's something about people who are truly funny that sets them apart. And John Swartzwelder had that thing. He makes it look so effortless.

This was my Marvin's golden cockring. The club gave it to him when he retired from the stage at the Meat Shack after 50 years.

I was cleaning my office and found an unopened on in the original shipping box. Can't throw it away.

This is one of the shows that I would like to have seen be expanded further. Lots of opportunity for Will Ferrel to mine that character. Why is he hunting bitches? And how does he feel about that?

My mom a couple months ago mentioned she has a brain tumor (on her pituitary gland) as an aside. Thought she mentioned it before, but since there's nothing they can do about it, it hasn't come up.

Medicine with a MSRP of $18000 (!) and they provide no way for the front end staff to know about it or if it should be released. Shambolic is very polite. It's corporate M&A duct tape and bailing wire wrapped around a rent-seeking scam.

On top of that is CVS Specialty pharmacy. And they do not talk to the CVS Pharmacy, even though they are where the medicine is handed to the patient. Picked up a "specialty" prescription, can't find it in the system, 2 other techs take a look. No one knows. So they just shrug and hand it to me.

There's a gotta be a whole separate story going on with James Wickersham. To be elected 4 times and contest/lose elections is something else.

So, in theory, you could have a site that has a full library of hardcore porno, but the rest of the site syndicates all of Wikipedia. As long as it's less than 1/3 of the content, no verification? Sounds like a win-win.

Quick Tip: "Don't speak ill of the dead" means dont demean, or spread lies, or speak malicious untruth about dead people, who cant defend themselves Accurately describing someone's life and legacy is not "speaking ill" It's the truth - which is self justifying in that it is the truth!

There's something to be said about companies following through on warranties. It's small, makes a difference. Had a Corona trowel that had the blade break off after a year or 2 of use. Emailed the warranty email with a picture. Couple weeks later a new one shows up. No email, just a box at my door.
A red handled Corona trowel, sitting on top of my laptop. Brand new out of the box. It's very shiny.

My wife worked in a grocery store about 10 years ago in the health and beauty section. She's busty, red hair, tattoos, gorgeous. She would regularly find chick tracts left in her aisle. No other section. Never found who was leaving them. Have a stack of about 15.

Click on the details for the event, you go into an AI chatbot like experience. No interface, no prompt... and no response. Just does nothing. I guess this is time to reflect on 'merica?
AI chatbot like interface when clicking for details. But it doesn't do anything.

I'm trying to give the freedom250 thing an honest look, but it's clear it's all whitewash, and a very clear grift on the American people. This just sucks. It's taken away from marketing the actual national events to get their crappy events.

It's really odd they're all wearing basically the same clothes and colors. Like they were all showing up for a class picture in Philadelphia. Quote Franklin: "We must indeed, all hang together or most assuredly, we shall all hang separately. But if we're going to hang, we should at least all match."
Screenshot of the freddom250 History Gallery with all the founding fathers obviously AI generated.

They are really AI-glamming the Founding Fathers™ to within an inch of their lives. Say what you will about Dolley Madison, but these are not the same people. This lady works at my bank and scowls at me when I drive through her neighborhood. Old-timey people don't need to be sexy. Just let them be.
Fictitious AI interpretation of what "Dolley Madison" looked like. Dolley Madison, as painted by Gilbert Sullivan.

This exactly. I'm not going to let him ruin being patriotic and the importance of this milestone. But he's made it all about himself, and no few want to participate in OUR celebration.

This is really the best Superman one off movie I can think of. The Superman part would only be tangential. None of the city destroying cgi monstrosity, only happening off screen.

Have seen the same thing, Cal looks like they're looking for a way to cash out and not be OS. But I have been really impressed with how they've done the video wrapper around Zoom and a great scheduling process. Worth the money, but not encouraging in the long run.

That's someone who will have a great career. Sadly, test two is running the fascist sockpuppet torment gauntlet for a time. Hopefully he has a strong support structure. It's people like that who make a difference in stopping those fascists.

Same. I've tried going without, it does not go well. The first to notice is the people around me. I'm functional today because of my doctor prescribed and monitored medication. The alternative for many people on SSRIs to go without is misery and possibly death. But hey, I'm sure RFK knows better.

Merriam Webster was the basis for the non truth. It's use to describe simply trivial facts is relatively recent and most other sources list as colloquial.

You hit my pet peeve! Regularly hear people say "factoid" in place of "fact", makes me want to scream. So much that it has changed the meaning to colloquially mean trivia. The word itself means fact-like not fact. Agh. Maybe the trivia use should be the diminutive, like factette.

Best feature: I have a similar doc that has common fields. I can select all those fields and paste them into another PDF, actually duplicates into the target PDF. Could not get Acrobat to do that without crashing or screwing up the fields.

Duke Scorpio @skweetis.com · 29/04/2026
Both are much lighter on resources than Acrobat as well, which is a memory hog for no reason.

Duke Scorpio @skweetis.com · 29/04/2026
Yes! You have to use the paid version, which is a subscription. PDF XChange editor I believe is one time purchase. Either allow you to add fields and completely configure them. Foxit wants you to pay for their e-sign thing, but I just insert it as an image over the top, flattens the same.

Duke Scorpio @skweetis.com · 28/04/2026
PDF-XChange Editor is the next best I've found. Good, but some of the batch editing doesn't work quite right. Working with forms with 1000s of fields that have to have exact names makes it a lift. So I will keep paying Foxit.

Duke Scorpio @skweetis.com · 28/04/2026
Yup. I've been using what is now called Foxit PDF Editor for a decade. The subscription renewal has crept up pretty fast, but it's the best I've found, have tested about 2 dozen different programs. A good PDF editor that handles forms well, including editing field names, is hard to find.
