I've been waiting almost 25 years for Final Fantasy Everything!

I gave Braid an A+ back in my press days. I spent 100s of hours working on The Witness at PlayStation, fighting for it, getting it into conferences, and being Jon's personal wrangler. I even coined "Metroidbrainia" after it. I will not be buying Order of the Sinking Star, and neither should you.

Wow, didn't expect to see this hit $24.99 before I&II HD-2D.

Just occurred to me it's the 30th Anniversary of SotN next year, gonna pencil in a remake for October 2027.

Really wish this hadn't used genAI for concept art because it would have been a day one purchase for me.

Looking at the completed eBay listings so far, the vast majority of them are selling for about $700 with only a couple going for 900+. After sales tax and 10% eBay fees and probably a $20 minimum shipping cost it's not even worth trying to scalp one for $700.

Wow, I was at both the 9/10 in-store show and the Warsaw taping and I totally forgot that the latter was the month before 9/11, I thought it was a couple years later. I wasn't even aware of the Onion gig until a couple years ago so I don't think that was in the movie either.

You're forgetting about Sekiro's grappling hook which was a major part of what makes that game feel so good to play.

Yeah, there really should be more options for varying hand sizes with first party controllers because it definitely seemed to be loved by people with bigger hands. They made the Series X controller 15% smaller than the XB1 controller and my hands cramp up way more than with the previous design.

Always gotta laugh at them featuring the original controller too, which was so unpopular they did away with it after less than a year. "Remember Sir Duke, everyone's favorite controller?"

Achievements can still be cool, RetroAchievements in particular are like a distillation of all the worst achievements ever conceived. ”Defeat every boss in the game with your eyes closed while chugging a Four Loko and playing on the keyboard from beloved Tom Hanks comedy 'Big'."

That's extremely cool, I always assumed the GBC version was a totally different game like the C64 or NES adaptations. Would be awesome to see a Dragon's Lair Gold Master series title from DE with ambitious ports like this as well as the questionable demakes.

That makes me wonder how many units those old games are moving per week at this point. If they bought 100-200 copies of their own game at $18 would that let them slip in above a $4 game selling 500-1000? Wouldn't be surprised to see them cut the price once they get higher up the charts.

Extra bizarre for anyone to doubt this when Tears of the Kingdom was almost exclusively referred to as "Breath of the Wild 2" for years. See also Xbox 720, PSP2, Banjo Threeie etc. Unnamed followups often just become tagged by whatever the previous thing was called. And PS1 is still PSX dammit!

They're more "cosmetically fragile". I got mine on launch day and the plastic around the hinges cracked probably within a year, but 20 years later they still work perfectly fine.

Is this the earliest use of the term rogue-lite as well? The trailer for Rogue Legacy was the first time I remember seeing it used and I've never been able to find any earlier usage.

Coin toss on whether the price goes up even further or if they announce some Zelda themed Joy-con's once they get around to doing that inevitable Zelda Direct. I'd wait, unless a good deal pops up on the existing cons.

I bought into it in 2002 and continued on right through the Series X, up until they shuttered Tango for the grievous crime of delivering the most critically acclaimed new IP they had in 2 generations. It was clear to me at that point they were done. Splitting my purchases between PS and Steam now.

They do, but only for certain games and at least for now there are no Take Two/Rockstar games supported.

9000 people liking and sharing the Tennessee Holler's post with exaggerated AI generated images while people posting the actual (still quite bad, but not dramatic enough apparently!) photos are ignored in the comments is a testament to that. This is exactly why we are where we are.

It's very good, the remake originally released as a VR-only game a few years ago. Cool to see they're including it with the non-VR update. It's suitably creepy without being legit terrifying like the Resident Evil games are in VR.

Will be interesting to see if it tops last September. This was just the first week, *after* several games delayed because of Silksong. Later in the month were Borderlands 4, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, Baby Steps, Consume Me, Hades II, Silent Hill f, and Final Fantasy Tactics. 72 games total.

I had no idea and I had always wondered why it was that games would routinely get bigger discounts (or just have a lower base price) on Steam when every platform has the same 30% fee. I assumed it was more that consoles had added costs in regards to certification and updates and such.
