For a second year in a row, the Cook County Treasurer’s Office is late sending out thousands of property tax bills and refunds – leaving taxpayers uncertain about when they’ll pay and how much they’ll owe.
A graphic with the following text:

Cook County Property Taxes
What is still delayed
- 2,900 second installment bills that should have been out in November
- 4,663 first installment bills that should have been sent this Spring
- 91,000 refunds backlogged, totaling $200 million due back to taxpayers

On Thursday, HUD announced it would overhaul its rules for funding homelessness programming. As a result, more than 8000 Illinoisans could be pushed out of their housing. My latest for @illinoisanswers.bsky.social illinoisanswers.org/2025/11/18/n...
