#FrogmanReturns has a noticeably bigger budget than the original, with better creature effects and gore. However, it also goes in a more explicit sci-fi and fantasy direction that may alienate found footage purists. #tadff

I really can’t wait until the hype around the restoration of #TheDevils dies down. I saw the film for the first and only time in 2014 on 35mm with a Guillermo del Toro masterclass. I enjoyed the talk, but the film is the only I’ve seen to seriously affect me as a Catholic.

#VHSMixtape has two great segments with Renee Zhan’s Dance, Dance, Dance Dance - Featuring work from Jim Henson's Creature Shop - and RZA’s ultra-gory closer Death Tone. However, the GWAR wrap segments and music video interludes really hurt the anthology’s pacing.

#OtherMommy is a film that I initially feared peaked during its pre credit sequence, i.e. the scene from the first trailer, but director Rob Savage delivers a demonic supernatural horror film that’s a mashup of everything from The Grudge to IT to Insidious.

After seeing it twice in a row (minus 15 minutes), #Digger is surprisingly meta environmental satire that, without revealing too much, is like Dr. Strangelove if it was a de facto sequel to Birdman. The larger-than-life IMAX presentation is the ONLY recommended way to watch.

#ForgottenIsland is a wonderful film from Dreamworks that combines multiple animation styles, has a soundtrack of 1980s music (with some 1990s hip-hop) and a plot that essentially combines Filipino folklore with The Hangover.
