I am very rarely on here- I am mostly a threads/instagam girlie- but that said, I am sending around my fall newsletter to editors, so if you are an editor and I somehow missed you, send me a chat and I will send it your way so you're up to date on what's coming up my submission pipeline this fall.🍁

what’s my Charlie and the Chocolate Factory horror about? not sure, but here’s my attempt at figuring it out.

from left to right: a hand filled with cocoa beans, a droplet of blood, melting candles, bars of chocolate, a pile of cookies, a broken glass, two boys about to kiss

arrows pointing to chocolate factory top surgery, generational trauma, the deeper we go the worse it gets, “your baggage is not too heavy for me,” Charlie and the Chocolate Factory horror, so many OSHA violations, trans autistic MC

Hi #PortfolioDay ! I'm Lauren, a comic writer/illustrator and high school art teacher (teaching a comics course) I'm eager to work on ya, genre fiction, and queer stories. I'm repped by @sknigge.bsky.social at High Line Literary 💖 you can find my work and commission info at laurenanalepa.com

comic page in mostly purple and teal. the first panel has a black blotch appearing. The caption text reads "but when I moved my eyes, the blotch moved with my gaze--"
in the second panel, a girl with a bob is peeking into a cubicle, asking "Hey Elisabeth, I think I need to go." to a blonde woman, who is looking over in surprise.
In the third and final panel, the blond woman is shown from the front, but her face is obscured by an ink splotch. A caption text box reads "--and it was slowly growing larger."

a two page comic spread with vibrant, sunset colors. The first page is three panels, starting with a caption text box reading "Beacon's Landing, Sunset."
Panel 1: a redheaded witch is flying towards a tower on a broom, with a magpie flying next to her. the sun is setting behind the tower.
In the second panel, she's touching down from her broom onto a cobblestone street. The third panel shows some people in witches' hats walking, their shadows long in the sunset light.

Page two is a single panel of the same redheaded witch looking up at a tall building. A second caption reads "Artificer's Square, Artisan District."

a character design layout of a man in a green three piece suit with tails. He has the expression of the criminally insane.

two girls stand back to back in front of a medieval style window set into a stone wall. The light coming in the window is cold and blue. On the left is a girl with elven ears and white hair, holding a sword. Her eyes are cast towards the girl behind her, and her expression is a mixture of angry and sad.
On the right is a girl with long red hair. She is also looking back behind her at the other girl, but her expression is just sad
