Sac Spiders
Clubionidae, Miturgidae: Sac spiders are typically light colored spiders with noticeably protruding spinnerets and dark fangs. They weave small Silk sacs under rocks or loose bark that they use for sleeping retreats and rearing young. Sac spiders lack capture webs, and wander in vegetation and occasionally in homes looking for prey. There are two family groups of sac spiders. Two species of small, pale, yellow spiders, called yellow sac spiders Cheiracanthium mildei (pictured here) and C. inclusum, are the only spiders in New York that are moderately poisonous to humans. They have necrotic venom that causes itchy or painful ulcerating sores that are slow to heal. In New York, bites attributed to brown recluse spiders are almost certainly from yellow sac spiders.

i finally looked up "what is the cool zone" and yeah it sounds pretty cool

A xitter post from some chucklefuck who says "Architects are cooked. AI is coming for you. Prepare accordingly." with an AI-produced floor plan. The longer you look at it the more funny things you find, so I will attempt to describe some of them: there are either 5 or 6 bathrooms, depending on if you go by name or drawing. There is a bedroom with nothing but dressers. there is a bedroom that is too small to fit a bed and contains tile floors and a sink and nothing else. There is something called a "coat bath", which could be a real thing tbh, I have no idea. There's a "gourmet kitchen" empty of furniture or plumbing outside of two (or three) of the bathrooms. There is a "mudroom and laundry" (mudrooms are real, I looked it up) that contains two bathtubs and two sinks, and a coat closet underneath one of the sinks. The "main foyer" is bordered by the 'coat bath', a 'master' something... 'master raisin'? And no doors to the outside. The two-car garage opens at the back of the house. There is what *might* be a kitchen labeled "huge walk/guest suite". Some of the lines bracketing a measured area have their own indecipherable measurements, measuring nothing.

today in 'some things are normal to rural/farm folks that i never would have thought about' - I looked up how to do a diy trap for cluster flies:

I made a very effective fly trap. Take a 5 gallon pail. Make a cone from metal window screen, poke a hole in the cone point. Put a short section of plastic tube (3/8of an inch or so) in the hole, silicone it in. You are trying to make a easy entrance to the pail that flys cannot escape from. Take the cone, put it point down into the bucket, and secure the edges of the cone with duct tape to the bucket. Pour chicken blood or some cheap beer in the bucket. The flys will fly to the smell, crawl around on the screen till they find the hole with the tube, crawl thru to get to the "nice" smell inside. When they try to leave they cannot find the small hole and are trapped. As they die the smell gets worse and attracts more of them. Just pour a shot of beer or chicken blood on the trap as it dries out. I ended up with a layer of dead flys about 4 inches thick in just a few weeks. I made my first one 35 years ago and it worked great. Whenever the neighbor spreads chicken manure on his fields the biting flys get bad. This trap works a treat.
