What they do today to asylum seekers, they will do to your kids' families in a generation or less.

Funnily enough, this happened a couple of days ago too.
Not a single thing has gone right since they dug up the Flayed Lord.

Honestly it's an agent of chaos when it's doing things like this:

From @chrisstoecker@mastodon.social on Mastodon: "What Europe should do RIGHT NOW: Make it extremely easy for US scientists to get long-term visa, create as many additional research jobs in key areas as possible, create new, generous science and research funds."

Yeah, by 2006 it was pretty polished compared to this. You needed broadband and a *really* good PC to do it justice but it was *good* - and now this POS comes along like "Look at me, I'm lifelike VR!" Shyeah, right. Give me the Far Away.
Image of a Sim in Second Life, and area of virtual world. This one is entitled "The Far Away" and is a rural American wheat field with a rusted steam locomotive in the middle. There's a wind pump, a barbed wire fence and some farm out-buildings. On a table stands a radio playing tunes from days gone by. First built in 2007 by "AM Radio". The detail on the models is incredible. Users can walk around this space in Second Life. It's a profoundly peaceful, lonely place.

Whenever I think of Glasman...
Elijah Price, "Mr Glass" from the "Unbreakable" trilogy played by Samuel L Jackson. Born with an extreme form of osteogenesis imperfecta, brittle bone disease, Mr Glass shatters his bones at the slightest trauma. A criminal mastermind, and the antithesis in every way to David Dunn, the unbreakable superhero whose "kryptonite" is water. Glass is evil incarnate, sacrificing hundreds of innocent lives to find Dunn, his nemesis.

This is the debt a doctor has to get into in this country now if their parents aren't rich. You tripled his tuition fees after promising to abolish them. That's enough to buy a 2 bed house in Hull. A second mortgage.

Divide and conquer. We should make union membership part of the immigration package. Unions can tell them what the going rate is & by acting in solidarity we can ensure nobody gets exploited.

TikTok moderation going bananas right now. I posted a friendly "GWS" message on a mutual's post about their back injury (which is thankfully something they will get better from) having fallen on ice, and this happened. I'm inclined to think Rednote was a great idea.

Fayed had an awful lot of property.
Political scientist Dr Michael Parenti explains the role of the police. He says "You see, there are people who believe that the function of the police is to fight crime. And that's not true; the function of the police is social control and protection of property."
