Tinkering with #powershell and #ai to duct tape a device diagnostics toolkit. Why? Idk: It's raining. I'm bored. I have coffee, and managed to not saw my fingers off removing a tree branch from the roof. Anyhow, if you're bored too, I welcome any feedback. www.powershellgallery.com/packages/Nit...

PSA for anyone here that relies on contractors, consultants, vendors who have provided you with great service - let their management know. Especially now with the shaky economy, giving them a kudos can make a real difference for their lives and livelihood.

Interesting contrast of responses between US AI models "hacking" into other sites/models, vs Chinese AI models just prompting the US AI models a lot.

Who decided that "rock" music shouldn't use horns anymore? I mean Pink Floyd, the Stones, Bob Seger, Huey Lewis, the Beatles, even RHCP. Then nothing. Was there like a big supreme council meeting where it was agreed upon?

For just a minute, I closed my eyes and imagined a conference room meeting being interrupted by Batman, casually walking in, and slapping the presenter after they just said they're about to solution something.

If I was starting a company with marketing needs, I'd hand out free condoms and tampons with our company name on them. Baby diapers. Vape cartridges. Toilet tissue with our logo on every square. I should've gone into marketing.

"We're going to solution it" should require a slap to the face.

I remember the AOL drink coasters very well. It was a brilliant marketing move for its time. Something about having a physical/tangible object makes a bigger impression.

Any desktop operating system with a GUI that doesn't have a default file manager/explorer with "copy path" from a selected file is garbage. Absolutely worthless trash. It's 2026, not 1996

My favorite SharePoint Online List feature is after you scroll to render all 5000 rows and then use the search feature to find something, but it doesn't find any matches, it starts the rendering process all over again. It's like the day after every payday. Only with less fun.

Politicians should have to pass a basic govt literacy test to run for office. Like nurses, pilots, trades-people,etc. have to do. But at least 4th grade level. Constitution, branches, etc.

This is just pure vanilla Copilot. GitHub Copilot is entirely different and usually provides correct responses. Apparently, the M365-related Copilot can't read MS Learn docs.

I have now asked Ms #Copilot 18 times to correct it's incorrect #PowerShell example for using [math]::Floor(). It still insists the correct syntax is: :Floor(). I'm not kidding.

I bought my last 30ft fatmax in 2020 when we moved into our house. It was $16.95, it wasn't on sale then either. I thought that was high then. Prices in 2026 are insane.

If you're stressed and need something relaxing to listen to, find Alex Wurman's "The Harshest Place on Earth" (soundtrack from March of The Penguins) Play on highest volume you can stand. You won't be disappointed. And even if you are, you'll forget why soon after.

section 220(b) smells like an insider trading wet dream. That whole section and thereafter are most likely tailored for a business already confirmed as the "winner", and who certainly has investors who wrote the text. That's called a circle-____ (fill in the blank)

HR Bill 8800 (NDAA) section 219 is interesting. Not sure why a budget procurement bill spends so much text on defining procedures like sub-section (c) when that should (legally) be defined in a dept policy. Then again, it's all theater anyway.

I'm waiting for AI services to introduce a "sponsor break" soon. Get you into a deep rabbit hole and then pause to show an ad before your next prompt. "Funny you asked about kidney disease. Have you talked with your Dr about Kidneea?" After the 3 minute ad is done it tells you you're out of credits.

$k@tterBr@1nz @skatterbrainz.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
The tragedy here is that the developer (Microsoft) and the source of the prompt context (PowerShell) as well as the reference documentation (MS Learn) are all in the same company's hands. Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT and even my shitty knuckle-dragging ollama got it right on 1st attempt.

M365 Copilot is unreliable for anything coding related. You may disagree, but after fighting with it over a simple #powershell syntax question over 10 times, I can't depend on it. This is no. 6 of 10 attempts to get it to correct the response. It never did.

The dynamic on each social media platform should be dissected scientifically. BlueSky feels like karaoke night. X feels like karaoke night at 3 AM. Discord feels like a gamer's dorm room. Facebook feels like a Walmart checkout line. LinkedIn feels like a gym with selfie cameras.
