Time for another AAC resource from the other site- I don’t think CVI Scotland has made it here yet but this article summary that considers the type of symbol most easily recognized by people with Cerebral Vision Impairment has clear implications for #AugComm. cviscotland.org/mem_portal.p...

When your client starts the session under a table and immediately says "you under table, please". Back pain, whatever! #bskyspeechies #slpeeps #augcomm #atchat
Man sitting under a sit/stand desk. He is hunched over with a look of discomfort on his face. Wires hang to his left.

While doing a zoom session, a (non-engaged) client noticed a guitar in his therapy room. He picked it up. The rest of the session revolved around him giving me a guitar lesson while targeting his goals. The power of motivation! Always follow their lead! #bskyspeechies #SLPeeps

AAC can't happen in a void: "There is no substitute for people who listen & make a great effort to understand a person who most others ignore. Listening & understanding is not easy; it takes hard work, time, & empathy.” From @communicationfirst.bsky.social: publications.ici.umn.edu/frontline-in...
