The 131-image Limpopo facial emotion stimulus set showed high agreement in recognition of the intended emotions and is openly available for researchers. We hope this resource will help support more culturally relevant and ecologically valid research in sub-Saharan Africa.

Most research on facial emotion recognition has relied on predominantly Western (WEIRD) samples and stimuli. We validated a set of facial expressions using photographs of models of Black African descent (the RADIATE stimuli), with ratings from students at the University of Limpopo, South Africa.

Rules include: 🚗New drivers under the age of 24, can have no more than one passenger in the car, aged between 14 to 20 years between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am. 🚗This rule will apply for the first six months after passing test. 🚗Passenger restrictions will not apply for immediate family members.

IQ is (only) what it is: performance on a collection of tests. There is evidence of a certain amount of heritability and stability but not total, and performance is not fixed: it can be significantly improved by training
