Well...that's the first Broken Sword finished. I've known of the series for a long time so I'm glad I played it to fill a well-known adventure game hole, but uh... Can't say I liked it.

Well Dweller is such an incredible game in the 2-ish hours that I've played so far, and it deserves all the love it can get! 🥹 So... YEAH, here's a contest!! 👇 Maybe you can get a cool new indie to play! It doesn't hurt to enter for a chance to win a free game, right? Right??

CONTEST TIME!

To celebrate the release of Well Dweller, I'm gifting out TWO copies of the game on Steam!

Rules:

1.) Drop a like and repost this (you don't have to be following me to enter)

2.) Pick a number between 1 and 1000, and for fun, tell me your favorite metroidvania! Through a number generator, I will randomly pick two numbers tomorrow at around 11 am PST (2 pm EST) and the winners will be announced!

______

Important note! I live in Canada, so gifting to other countries outside of North America CAN be a problem! I'm not too knowledgeable about Steam yet, so if this does happen to one (or both) winners, I can send out a digital Steam gift card instead.

Good luck and happy gaming! 💜

One of the issues I'm having with Broken Sword is not knowing why I'm even doing things a chunk of the time. I feel like I'm solving a fair number of things just by badgering everyone about everything at every opportunity.

My poor sister now has had to listen to me rant lol. But I was hearing of the damn goat puzzle loooong before I ever even considered playing the game. And that's it? I was expecting total bullshit or something really twisted. King's Quest alone has several worse things in my opinion among others

Siver @siverwrites.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Underwhelmed with Broken Sword so far. Finished off in Ireland and the worst part was a finicky hot spot stalling me up cause I thought I knew what to do (I did) but kept missing it. Even the goat was underwhelming! I haven't really cared about any of the characters so far

After seeing it again, past talk and generally being aware of it for a long time, I finally succumbed to my curiosity and started Broken Sword. The GOG version comes with the original as well so I opted for that over the director's cut I'll let one of my saves speak for my thoughts on George so far

Two save file names: Beginning and Why won't anyone check on meee

The Curse of Monkey Island’s opening shot, Guybrush adrift in a bumper car, is still one of adventure gaming’s best intros. Bill Tiller drew every background by hand. He and fellow background artists Maria Bowen and Kathy Hsieh brought them to life in colour. #MonkeyIsland
