1. A new study claims trans care worsens mental health. It is fatally flawed. It didn't measure mental health—it measured psych visits. Even visits that stemmed from mandatory checkins, surgical pre-psych evals, or pre-treatment that was classified as post. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Fact Check: New Finnish "Study" Does Not Prove "Trans Youth Care Leads To Worse Outcomes"

The latest Kaltiala study is filled with fatal methodological flaws, and does not support claims made about trans youth care lacking efficacy.

Got the perfect sticker for my new Steam Machine. Xenia sticker made by Neotheta.

Steam Machine with an Xbox controller next to it. There is a sticker attached to the Steam Machine's front, portraying Xenia with a speech bubble saying: "By the way, I use Linux!"

Jingles in a cute begging pose. I tried to experiment (pun intended!) with the viewing angle a bit. I think it came out pretty well. #casualtiesunknown #ScavPrototype #Expie #furryart #furry

Illustration of Jingles, an original Experiment character inspired by the game Casualties: Unknown. Jingles is standing upright in a cute begging pose with front paws held close to the chest, looking up with a tilted head and large amber eyes. The fluffy fur is dark gray with a bright yellow tail tip. A gold bell tied with a red ribbon is attached near the base of the tail. The character stands on a light wooden floor against a soft teal background.

Windows keeps getting worse by the day due to very bizarre changes from Microsoft. Linux can be rough for desktop use, and is missing a lot of applications that I'd like to have without needing a dual-boot setup. MacOS, while also not perfect, works well enough to allow me to focus on my tasks.

In the past, I've used and built several desktop PCs, laptops, and switched between Windows and Linux distros. My daily work involves tinkering around with Linux servers. So it feels a little strange to admit that my current favorite device for general use and development is... a MacBook Pro.

A MacBook Pro sitting on top of fabric. A sticker is glued to the bottom right corner, resembling a fox named Xenia with a pair of glasses showing the text "KERNEL PANIC".

Nearly all ads I'm seeing on YouTube these days is AI generated and/or straight up a scam. Some of them genuinely make me feel uncomfortable or dumbfounded. The fact that ad block (or buying an expensive subscription) is REQUIRED to preserve my safety is insane.

I've been doing a little bit of research into HDR10 from the color grading perspective lately, and I find it really fascinating how messy the standard is. The way it's linked to absolute brightness values that a vast majority of displays don't support is an interesting choice.

Usually I try to avoid talking about such topics, because I want others to feel comfortable. But sometimes things just start to feel overwhelming to me. My mind may be my biggest enemy. Yet I still stand. I persevere. I live, day after day. Maybe it'll all be worth it one day.

What haunts me and my psyche is the feeling of worthlessness, and it keeps me from living a fulfilling life. I wish to learn, to express my ideas. But my opinions do not matter. My feelings don't matter. Or at least that's what my mind keeps telling me. Why must it be so difficult to love oneself?

I believe the Steam Machine's price is reasonable, in the context of the overall prices for electronics today. "I could build my own PC with the same specs for cheaper." Then do it. Nobody's stopping you. The Steam Machine is probably not for you. That's the beauty of PC gaming: having options.

The wildest thing about transitioning and passing that I did not anticipate to become a daily problem is that whenever I'm with a male (or male-assumed) person, we're automatically assumed to be romantic partners. Even when I'm with my brother. 😭

In incredible news, the European Parliament has voted overwhelmingly for "The Full Recognition Of Trans Women As Women." Even the center-right European People's Party voted for the declaration. It will form a foundation for their position at the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Our latest.

The resolution, though nonbinding, is a significant shot at those who seek to erode transgender rights on the continent.

I've just discovered Casualties: Unknown a couple days ago, and oh my gosh, I don't think any other game has caused me to feel such genuine dread. It's an amazing game, but the warnings at the beginning of it are well deserved! I feel so bad for the creatures... 😭 #CasualtiesUnknown #ScavPrototype

Do post process effects work on Quest? If they do, perhaps those could be used to color grade the scene further without changing shaders.
