I read this book last October and it was an excellent hallo-read. Strong recommend if you like sociological story telling with spooky spice.

Because washing machines, etc. are 'dumb technologies'; they do one thing, and either you want that thing or you don't. AI is 'smart' in that it is versatile, multi-purpose. It can do things that no one has even figured out yet. Finding those things can take work.

The 'harm reduction' context would suggest this is akin to saying 'don't take drugs.' I mean, yeah, they shouldn't, but they're going to. Given that, we should try to give them advice that will reduce the harm of doing drugs/flirting at conferences.

Several independent sources have looked into this and found considerable, even damning evidence of plagiarism. I think the Good Law Project should consider retracting this, as it may harm their reputation if the accusations prove true.

I've presented dozens of papers at academic conferences and if someone took that tone in their commentary I would pull them aside afterwards and tell them there is a decorum that is expected here and they are violating it.
