Pleased to announce that a genuine 4K/HD scan of the Daicon III era anthology RARE is now available after almost 40+ years in obscurity. This work features works from several mangaka and animators adjacent to the legendary production as well as Ai Naniwa. Links below!

The front cover of a vintage early 1980s doujinshi / zine featuring a bishoujo anime girl in a bikini reclining. The graphics are black while the background paper is yellow. The text says RARE in English with the Japanese script and the roman numerals for 2, connoting that this is the 2nd installment of the series. Uploaded and scanned by retroanimechris / chris de la bigne

was talking with a friend about this a few days ago - the anime girl mascots on some old releases I used to listen to were truly iconic. I still think about these on the regular, ngl

For the H.Anno and Serial Experiments Lain Japanese Power Pole enthusiasts. There is a literal book called "Denchu Mania." It goes through the history of them, teaches you the basics and how to enjoy them. No joke I recommend for indie developers. www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B08JYH222...

sisi ☆ しし🪻🍃 @ zzz @sisiri.moe.observer · 17/08/2026

sisi ☆ しし🪻🍃 @ zzz @sisiri.moe.observer · 17/08/2026
