Another month means another Intangible Debris release! This track is FIRMLY in avant garde noise/harsh noise territory. It is an atonal, rhythmic, textural exploration of grief, and continues on the thematic journey that my last two songs started.

Second release from my solo project! Continuing on the theme of "uncomfortable music for uncertain times", this one is titled Reticent. Was sitting on it for months, decided it was time to just get 'er out there and keep my recent momentum.

Yeah, yeah... the melody I wrote for this part is cool and all, but what if I just... replaced them with multiple layers of incoherent existential screaming, heavily distorted drums, and deep sub bass?

I miss her so much, everyday. Been just a little over a month since Diva crossed the rainbow bridge. She made it to 22. She was our perfect, precious little old lady, and I wish that everyone in the world could have met her.

I return with a rare update! Excited to share the very first song from my new solo project. I had been procrastinating on this for months, lol. The project is called Intangible Debris, and this song is Brainfog. Inspired heavily by Akira Yamaoka, Massive Attack, and Portishead. More to come.

I have created another game! This platformer was made as part of my participation in a smaller game jam, Godot RAM Jam 1. The constraints: The main mechanic had to be Jumping, and it had to be inspired by Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories in some way. Give it a download!

Joined another game jam. I'm learning so much and having another way to express myself creatively has been just what I've needed. Plus, it gives me a really interesting new way to put my music out into the world. Can't wait to share this new one when I'm finished!

Check it out! My first ever solo indie game! I made this as a challenge to myself for a silly game jam, because I have been learning Godot over the last few weeks. I always wanted to make games to help people get the giggles, and I am really proud of it. The song I made for it is a banger, too!

Doctor's orders were to lose 20 lbs. by July. My main struggle over the last few chapters of my life has been a lack of movement. My younger years were filled with ludicrous levels of cardio activity, including hours upon hours of Dance Dance Revolution. Well... Commencing Virtuous Mission, now!

I got a vinyl player last week. My collection for years was pretty much just Joe's Garage and Sixteen Tons. ...I'm now up to 14 records, with a 15th on the way soon. Something about listening to Uriah Heep and Jethro Tull in this format just feels right. I knew this would create a problem, lol.

Another crossroads. I have chosen to step away from my last project, but I am very, very much looking forward to fully exploring my newfound creative freedom. I'm sure I'll be back onstage in due time, but for now... many riffs to find, songs to craft, and words to write.

Just some Mad Scientist stuff from our big Halloween party gig last weekend. Super fun excuse for an original cosplay to really play up the persona! Wanted to pay homage to Dr. Steel while doing my own thing. My partner helped me bring my design to life and I love how it turned out!

I have always done music purely for the love of music and the joy of self expression. To me, the act of decorating time is a celebration of ephemeral beauty, existing only in the moment and only as long as we are engaged in the activity. Whether listening or performing, it centers and grounds me. /1

I really missed playing drums. So I went and spent a bunch of money on things so I could play my old kit in my apartment without bothering the neighbors! It's wild how much quieter these pads and cymbals are. Also, since I've added triggers, I can now use these as an electronic kit, too!

Took a bit of a social media break so I could focus on meatspace/IRL stuff. Was sorely needed. As the year winds down, I am recommitting to taking care of myself, cultivating my joy, choosing to be better, and reconnecting with treasured friends on a deeper level. I'm gonna make things again.

A week in four pictures. I had a health scare that began last week. Pain and discomfort in my lower right abdomen. Lead to a late night ER visit, some uncomfortable days in the restroom, an immediate care visit, XRays, and OTC meds. I'm now going on hour+ walks daily and making changes.

About 20 years ago (oh jeez), my best buds and I spent plenty of time driving around the suburbs, full of the energy and hubris of youth, blasting Nonpoint's album Recoil at absurd volume levels. (RABIA!) In December, I get to share a stage with Nonpoint as direct support. Life is freaking wild.

Finding old recordings is always such a treat. Even the crunchiest wav files done with Sound Recorder and a Packard Bell desktop mic on a Windows 98 PC can be an effective time capsule. Such a neat way to hear how far I've come and reflect on cherished memories of beloved friends.

Lots of quality time with my Ax Edge keytar lately. Current goal is building a usable, killer bass synth sound so I could potentially use it live onstage with my band for a song or two! Kinda wish I had that double headed synth/bass that Chris from Muse uses!

After all the chaos of my moving journey last year, I never bothered to turn off Zillow rental notifications. Once in a while, I'll expand one of them to see the price. I call them Rent Jumpscares, and consider it mental preparation for the apartment hunting mosh pit. It's brutal out there. Oof.
