Partially rigged, though not ready to show in motion—going to be a tough one. Chest & colors also needs work– they're upcoming!

Been revising my bee character's thorax, specifically the arms & back. She's got an unreasonable number of scapula(oids) & they're a real pinching hazard! #3dart #anthro #insect #b3d

Two other views, also showing off the guides which produce the texture (you can kind of imagine they represent 'the tree the wood was cut from'.) As you can see, the right hand timber is a little offset, producing interesting asymmetric detail in the texture.
A swayed tree trunk with its top cut showing how the texture space flows with the tree. On the right side the guide which produced the texture is visible.A timber with a procedurally generated texture showing off the sectioned grain.

My procedural texture & #geonodes set up for wooden objects in #b3d is nearly complete. Handles live wood, dead wood, processed wood—the whole forest! Basically functions by creating a continuous 3D texture space which flows *along* the tree. #3dart #3dartist
A set of procedurally textured wooden objects, including two stumps, one split and one gnawed (as if by a beaver) as well as a large timber. The grain and bark flow along a continuous 3D texture projected throughout the objects, giving them a greater realism compared to traditional cube mapping or uv mapping.A tree trunk which appears to have been gnawed, exposing the rings within

Well, if it's any consolation, python isn't very good at math either lol! For real, I wouldn't be at all surprised if node-code performs better than python. (Unrelated, but funny now that I think about it– the original bge 'logic-bricks' were kind of like nodes-before-nodes—a certain continuity.)

Bold engine choice. I remember getting my start in modelling & also gamedev with the original BGE, kind of nostalgic. How is UPBGE?

Little close up of the grain. I had a pine in mind for the texture, but the tree itself... well, it's just a nonsense test model! (The gnarled curves were good for debugging.) Let me warn you though, you do NOT want to see the nodes!

Been working on a procedural material + #geonode setup for branches (& wood in general) in #b3d . The trick with wood is creating a texture space which follows the branch so you get a nice & natural flow in both the grain & bark. #3dart
A close up of a procedurally textured tree branch showing two small stumps protruding from a major branch, one of the stumps has had its bark shaved off.A gnarled procedural tree, whose wood vaguely resembles pine, though the tree structure is entirely un-pine-like.

Only *slightly* outdated– the biggest change since has been the addition of fuzz & some material improvements (iridescence, pores.) Surprisingly, a bee's feet do actually look *approximately* like this– but I've take a few creative liberties for the sake a pseudo-plantigrade stance & larger mass.

A little beean animation test. Some pretty mean beeans!– but they've gotta be grippy if they're going to climb sheer surfaces. #3dart #animation #anthro #furryart #insect

Turns out it was a cheetah, not a leopard 😅 Reference used: www.animal-photo-references.com/cheetah?item...

Pose & composition are a rough match I think– but the color is all messed up! (Foliage 'leaves' a lot to be desired too.) But of all the elements present, I am actually most satisfied with *the rock* 😅– best rock I've ever drawn—& how's that for a dubious accomplishment?

Did a little digital painting study. Never 'painted' before, only ever 'sketched'. Was quite the learning experience. #digitalart #wildlife #study
A digital painting of a leopard looking over her shoulder on a gravel road with wild growing grass in the background and a large boulder in the bottom right of the frame. The reference image, with pose matching the painting, though with darker values & greater contrast (I goofed up pretty good on that aspect of the scenario.)

Little roundabout of the bee's knees, now cleaned up & fuzzy. The fuzz is functional, it keeps grit & grim out of the joints (a more sensitive area than the chitin.) #3dart #anthro #insect

For whatever disadvantages may come with compound eyes, bugs are so lucky to have a sea of jewels at hand (or perhaps at head.) In truth, the appearance is a ruse!– just a parallax shader. #3dart #animation #furryart #anthro #insect

Great design, might even let him across the threshold!

VULPECULA | vitreous conflux of stellar sand; eternity flows from my hand From my furry-celestial series, The Little Fox and Goose. I love the refraction in this, you can see in the brightest spots that she's made of the stellar sand she stands on and commands #furry #furryart #furryartist #anthro

Wow, every single one of the leg homologues is accounted for! The 'jaws' are a fun design choice, I've tried a similar thing before but you nailed it.

A little rigging test of a bee's many knees. I wouldn't know what to do with this many joints, so better thee bee than mee! #3dart #animation #anthro #insect

Head closeups. They're the first draft but they turned out well (though the feathers are kind of inconsistent, still figuring out what looks best)
