This is how #DCRail deliver up to 1500t of aggregate into their Chessington terminal multiple times a week. At the moment, using a pair of glorious Class 56s. It was a privilege to get & about and work on these for operational validation work with more to come. #RailFreight

A tip off from FL colleagues of a new Gateway path, 4L73 from Tinsley that’s booked via my local line so popped down to Bruce Grove to see it cruise thru. 66553 leads a mix of FLA lowliner twin & quintets plus some FSAs with 8’6” 20fts which enables the use of this gauge restricted line #RailFreight

Cannot remember the last time I used this platform to board/alight a train at Finsbury Park. This was courtesy of a Thameslink unit sat on 7 with a broken window otherwise the doors never open on 6 and trains aren’t scheduled to stop on 5. #TrainLife #RareMovements

Overtaken by a #RailFreight! #GBRf’s 6O51 empty Daventry to France water train passes & is signalled ahead of us as it’s running right on time with 66787 in the lead, with its long formation of 20 IZA twins which won’t be back in England until refilled with 1800t of bottled water!

The unusual moment caught at Waterloo of a shunt move from one part of the W&C depot to the other via the departure platform. This also meant seeing 2 southbound trains at the same time heading towards the depot (one was shunting, the other arriving from Bank) #TrainLife
