Finally set up my bookshelves. No, the crushed bay leaves aren’t an aesthetic choice. Now that I live in the city, I must deter city pests 🙃. Idk if this will do anything, but my fiancé did a quick internet search and said it might help. #nyc

Some sketches I did yesterday from photos I took of the food I ate over the weekend (my partner and I went out a couple times to celebrate our anniversary 💕). I was in a pretty good mood over the weekend until I checked the news. What can I say? Call/email your reps 🗣️ #art #artsky #sketchbook #food

Went digging into my digital art folder and found this sketch exploration I made of a chiton (a type of clothing from Ancient Greece—can’t say this sketch is terribly accurate for sure but I tried) and I never used it for what I intended to reference it for… (1/2)

My brain says that if dragons were real that it might be dangerous. My soul says it would be really really cool though. I think these dragons would be more cute than dangerous tho lol (1/2) . . . . #art #artsky #dragon #dragonart #digitalart

This is a really good suggestion so I just tried it but based on the search I think the packaging it came in is just a generic tea storage container 😭

Btw this was the thumbnail I did for this drawing and I just find it so funny comparing my thumbnails to my finished art because mostly I just can’t be bothered to be specific in these. I usually think to myself, “oh I’ll know what I meant” which is usually true…except when it’s not 😅. (2/2)

Little late night sketch of me sketching in bed. I swear I love this brush pen so much I can’t believe it took me this long to find out that bristle brush pens actually exist 😭. I’m sure I’ve said that before but I’m still in shock that it’s a thing #art #artsky #sketch #sketchbook #brushpen

Meant to post this yesterday but was a little emotionally drained: Added a new I voted sticker to the back of my sketchbook! I’m so relieved at the results of the primaries in my city and in NYC. Idk what’s gonna happen in the general election, but I feel something like hope.

2nd to last batch of self portraits I’ve made! They’ve all been done for a while but I just like to spread out posting them. I found this little sketchbook I used to use from over 10 years ago that I only half finished, so I’ve decided that it’ll accompany me on my walks and I’ll draw a couple little things I see when I walk outside. It’s funny to see how different my line quality is! #sketchbook #artsky #art #artist

June is usually a pretty celebratory month for me (Pride, Gemini season, and my birthday month all rolled into one). With all the stuff happening, the mood is somewhat dampened for me, but my local donut shop is doing pride themed donuts and if that isn’t a mood booster idk what is #donuts #pride

Anatomy practice is my comfort subject when it comes to drawing. Especially when I feel low, it’s what I turn to to keep a consistent practice. Y’all, what do you usually draw for fun/comfort/when you’re feeling low? Just feeling curious about what everyone else does 🧐 #drawing #artist #art #artsky

Admittedly, I could be doing more to get greater detail on these but I just can’t be bothered to either A. size up my portraits or B. I watched a YT video that made it look like I could use a tortillon to make smaller details.

More self-portraits from my sketchbook because I’ve decided to do a quick self-portrait a day for a month or so. It’s been really fun to learn and experiment with oil pastels. #oilpastel #sketchbook #artsky #art #artist #selfportrait

It’s been truly since I was in elementary school since I’ve picked oil pastels up and I remember distinctly not liking them as kid (because the art classes I had in school growing up never really taught how to use any of the mediums properly. I never had a good art teacher until college)

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed (2022) by Laura Poitras. I cried a few times while watching this. Tbh I wasn’t so interested in Nan Goldin’s work before watching this, but I think I’ll definitely take some time to give it a proper look. . #artsky #filmsky #sketch #sketchbook #movesky #documentary
