My 3D printer hasn’t just been busy with #StarTrek! I found JAV-3D on MakerWorld, who has created a fantastic range of #DoctorWho models. So I took a gamble, scaled down the Thirteenth Doctor and her “fam”, and fired up the printer! #wargames #3DPrinting #WIPWednesday #wargaming

Continuing my adventures in FDM-printed miniatures, I’ve turned my attention to the bridge crew of #StarTrekVoyager. Once again, I’m using the excellent models created by Drakonius and available on MakerWorld and they’re proving another great test of just what an FDM printer can achieve.

Drakonius’ #StarTrek models on Bambu MakerWorld look fantastic, but at 18–20cm tall they’re more display piece than gaming miniature! So another FDM rabbit hole: how small can I print Picard and co. before faces, fingers and uniform details start disappearing? #miniaturemonday #wargaming #wargames

Wow, over a month since my last blog post, and it seems I haven’t been missed! 😄 Summer holidays meant less gaming, then house renovations saw most of my collection packed away. But the dust has finally settled, everything’s coming back out, and normal service can resume!

More #3Dprinting this week! This time I’ve printed some miniature Stonehenge-inspired terrain for my fantasy and historical tabletop games. Once painted up, these pieces should add plenty of atmosphere to my gaming table. #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames #wipwednesday
Three small stone archways with carved Celtic-style knotwork stand in the back row, while three rune-covered standing stones and broken stone fragments are arranged on oval bases in the foreground. Some of the runes are highlighted with blue paint, giving the pieces an ancient, weathered stone appearance suitable for a fantasy or historical gaming setting.

For #MiniatureMonday, I printed and painted a Kazon warband from #StarTrek: Voyager using my new Bambu FDM printer. These free STL files may be basic, but they printed in just 3 hours and painted up surprisingly well. A playable Trek force for pennies in filament! #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames
Three painted Kazon miniatures from Star Trek: Voyager standing on round textured bases. The figures feature the species' distinctive wild, spiked hairstyles and wear yellow, brown, and green clothing typical of Kazon factions. One miniature holds a small device, another stands with folded arms, and the third is armed with a rifle. The models are photographed outdoors on a wooden surface with a blurred fence in the background.Three painted Kazon miniatures from Star Trek: Voyager displayed on round, metal-textured bases. Been putting my 3D printer through its paces with this old-school fantasy outpost! The final section finished printing today, and it's all assembled. Next up: primer, paint, and bringing it to life on the tabletop! 🎨🏰🖨️ #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames #wipwednesday
A partially assembled 3D-printed fantasy watchtower terrain piece for 28mm tabletop wargaming. The unpainted white modular structure features a central tower with battlements, raised platforms, stairways, bridges, and defensive walls mounted on a textured oval base. A single painted 28mm miniature stands in the courtyard to demonstrate scale, with a small tan log pile and black fence section at the front. The terrain is photographed indoors on a grey sofa.

Rare entry for #TerrainTuesday! Painted up some pieces I printed while learning the ropes. They’re not perfect as test models, but too good to waste and they still work nicely on the table. #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames

“We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” TV nostalgia for #MiniatureMonday this week. Featuring a 28mm Bob Ross tribute alongside the Sheriff of Nottingham and Norman soldiers from the anarchic BBC TV series Maid Marian and Her Merry Men (1989–94). #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames

Bloody hell! Digging out some minis for this week’s game and found these three chunky 3D-printed figures I bought and painted last year have cracked open. Looks like uncured resin inside expanded in the May heatwave. Not sure they’re salvageable or even safe now. #wargaming #nerdlings #wargames
Three hand-painted tabletop miniatures of bulky figures in bright green outfits stand on round black bases against a white background. The left figure faces forward holding a large sledgehammer, the middle figure is turned slightly sideways holding a blue weapon, and the right figure is shown from the back with a raised arm holding a tool. The paintwork highlights folds in the clothing with lighter green tones, with red accents on belts and shoes, and visible white basing material around the feet.
