I was active in this scene and remember this happening at the time. He basically lifted the track while he was using a Commodore 64 or Amiga to produce sounds with. Not saying he’s not talented, but this was really not cool.

I generally can appreciate this author's perspective on the contemporary music industry and music history, but I do want to highlight the opening of this as an example of the oddly prevalent imagined perceptions of karma within contemporary mainstream culture (of the Anglosphere, anyway).

the first slot in my 6u 500 series chassis is solder-scorched after 10 years of regular use. when I bought it (to host these preamps), my intent was to fill the rest of it out as dual channel strips of signal processing. But nothing else I’ve sought since has been available in a 500 format.
