It was all going swimmingly.

I thanked the cabin crew as I left the Boeing 777-200 which had flown me across the Atlantic Ocean.

Unless you are flying from New York most transatlantic flights leave for Europe in the evening and mine is no exception.

It is the final full day of my world tour.

I had a plan, possibly the first of the whole trip.

Just down the road from me is the birthplace of one Atlanta’s most important figures of the twentieth century, Martin Luther King.

I passed through many time zones as we headed east across the United States.

The hotel manager, Louis, invites me to dine with him at breakfast.

It is my final day on Moorea, this tiny spot in the South Pacific and I am determined to make the most of it.

“You have unlimited mileage,” said Parea with a huge grin.

We will never really know what caused the Mutiny on the Bounty but Hollywood has had a good go a telling us.

It must have been the cockerel crowing under my window.

I awake to read terrible news from home.

My poor legs did a lot of walking yesterday so today I have promised them a more sedate day.

Today I am half way through my journey around the world.

It is my first full day in Auckland and I have given myself no plan.

It is time to move on and that means another flight, the shortest that will be taken on this trip.

I awake after another solid sleep.
