Ah man, I was going to post this the other week... I made some (pretty much life-sized) Cardboard 'Beastly Buildings' for our youngest's Dog Man themed birthday party. They were pretty cool. With this lighting they do look quite satisfying real, like they're from a Japanese monster movie :)

A photo of two Beastly buildings models I made from cardboard for a dog man themed birthday party. They look quite Beastly and they look like there's someone in them

An inked scene of a drummer playing the drums. She has a big grin, cool blue ribbons of hair, a green head back and a t-shirt with a crazy looking cat on it. The front of the bass drum says 'boom boom, kitten' the sound effects of the drums are written as chunky text in the background 'budda-bah, boom, Ching, badoom'

* this is probably because I haven't been on here for ages I guess. I'll have to do a 'what we did on our summer holls' one time, as all the things happened, er, and more

Ah man, feels like I haven't been in here for ages* hmm this week? Ah yes it was our youngest's birthday this week, so I hand made (they the best) a dogman card for him. He thought it very cool :)

A picture of a hand made/hand drawn dogman card I did for my little boys birthday. It shows the legendary dogman - in a cool action pose

Ah, I still have this on my bookcase. I remember when it came out it was like a new album from the world's coolest band, but in a comic :)

I love that you went to Pompeii and this was the thing that caught your eye (understandable). Ah Italians and their fruit, huh?

100

Simon Credland @simoncred.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

We picked an actual strawberry from our garden....my daughter (10) gave a big smile and said 'it's got bum cheeks!' Which it clearly has. I think it might be a niche variety. Ah hang on I need to write alt text without getting the giggles (or arrested)...

A photo of a freshly picked strawberry that is the exact shape of a Strawberry coloured bottom. Or a pair of fruity bum cheeks?

Mesopotamia vrs Pangaea? Anyways, I drew the legendary Cape Verde, yay. So I've been walking round the house making up Cape Verde songs....but after some research it turns out that the reality is far more groovy....

@louiestowell.bsky.social I always seem to miss your Friday 'what made you smile round up' so here's an early/late (both?) one for this week.... My children wanted to do a sweepstake for the world cup - this took ages to set up as every country that's ever existed is in it this year....

110

Simon Credland @simoncred.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

Well, it's a great thing you've done here. Sometimes things can get really busy round here but I always try and make something new for it each month :)

It is! And it turns out that backpacking around Europe as a teenager with no real plans or any money can lead to amazing discoveries like this :)

010

Simon Credland @simoncred.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Ah here we go.... You can sit and have a coffee here, it's like being on a film set

210

Simon Credland @simoncred.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Not been on here for a while and this was the first thing I saw - this sounds like a very cool day out. Have you ever been to the restaurant/cafe in the musee d'orsay (Paris)? The building used to be a train station and you can sit behind a giant clock face - I'll find a picture I took....

And before anyone says, yes there's a bit of an anachronism as that brand of skateboard wasn't released until the later Cretaceous period. Artistic licence :)

An inked and coloured illustration for this month's kidlitpostcard day. It's a blue dinosaur, er, on a skateboard wearing goggles and with a jet pack. There is smoke and flames pouring out of the jet pack as the Dino zooms across the page. This isn't necessarily scientifically accurate, but it looks cool

Then I found this which i'd never even heard mention of before... There's a tove Jansson illustrated version! It's a hobbit-moomin mash up. Even the thought of this makes me happy inside. I'm going to have to get this

Yep, you guessed it, it's 'Hobitti' beautiful word. As in I've had one breakfast but I'm still hungry, I'm feeling a bit Hobitti.
