Saw it two years ago at Innotrans, and today I travelled on the exact same train (6526 005) for real: the Stadler Flirt Akku BEMUs 🔋 entered service this week! :) 44 of these will run on various unelectrified lines in southern Palatinate replacing DMUs, starting with (Karlsruhe-) Landau - Neustadt

people always dislike it and joke about it, but I like "my" station Hagen Hauptbahnhof, just feels like home. It is finally getting a refresh currently! yes, that's me, it's been a while also I got to tour some abandoned parts of the station a few years back, which was pretty cool :)

The new Stadtbahn station at Düsseldorf Airport that just opened :) currently a 20 min frequency to Hbf via city centre, supposed to be the first part of a tangential route from Ratingen to Neuss tho It's funny that a couple stops later you get off literally in the roadway since there's no platform

I really hate how everything's suddenly becoming classified 😠 Costs of rail renovations? Business secret. Detailed diagrams of any railway plannings? Security-critical, so a secret.

The Federal Government is not disclosing the total costs of the comprehensive renovation. The requested information constitutes trade and business secrets of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) and the private companies involved, the justification states. Disclosing this information could result in economic and financial disadvantages for both DB AG and the aforementioned companies. With regard to DB AG, the Federal Government's fiscal interests could be affected. The information is therefore classified as "VS-VERTRAULICH" (Confidential) and deposited in the Bundestag's classified information office, insofar as it is available to the Federal Government.

Due to the recently increased requirements for sabotage protection pursuant to Section 30 of the Administrative Procedure Act (VwVfG), no security-critical planning documents will be published from here in accordance with the recently enacted legal situation. This serves to protect confidential data concerning parts of an infrastructure that are particularly sensitive for maintaining public safety and the functionality of the infrastructure.

In the present proceedings, this includes

site plans,

the register of structures,

building plans,

cable and pipeline layout plans,

route alignment plans, and

the fire and disaster protection documentation.

Therefore, since July 29, 2026, only planning documents that do not contain security-critical information will be made available to the public in planning approval procedures during the hearing process, but also generally after the decision has been issued.

Only public authorities and, where applicable, directly affected private individuals will now have access to the overall plan, including security-critical planning documents

If you wish to assert personal concerns and thus the right to inspect documents classified as security-critical, please provide justification.

Bittersweet news this weekend on the Zagreb - Split line with the last run of the ICN (InterCity Nagibni) service after more than two decades. ICN was introduced as HŽ's premium product using Bombardier RegioSwinger tilting trains in 2005. They will soon be replaced by Končar 7024 EDMUs hybrids

Slovenians never converted and just continued building 3kV AC (it would be interesting to find whether this caused any issues/controversy before Yugoslav disolution). Croatians also maintained significant 3kV DC portion until 2012, when the whole network was finally converted to 25kV AC.
