Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 02/10/2026So I’m sitting here with a buzz and a ringing in my ears, the TV turned up loud, and a selection of comfort foods. Fuck this. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I’ve taken steroids and antibiotics (and a delightful dose of thrush which came along with those) and they improve symptoms for a few days but then they come back with a vengeance. 100
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 02/10/2026But while I wait for further treatment I’m living with almost torturous symptoms and there’s not much else I can do but wait. If anyone knows any short-term remedy for reliving ear pressure then please shout (and you actually will need to shout). 100
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Since I got back from holiday last month I’ve had a persistent ear infection that’s causing a lot of discomfort, not to mention very loud tinnitus. The GP has done what they can, and I’m fortunate to have seen an ENT doctor who has identified nasal polyps (almost certainly linked to the problem). 100
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 01/10/2026My daughter is out on Thursdays until 9pm so I’m on strict #Traitors curfew until she’s back and we watch on catch up. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I just had my text read out on 5 Live Drive. This means I’m famous now. 110
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I used to live in Romford, not far from Gidea Park. #totp 010
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I’ve never heard this oasis song before, and tbh I wish that was still true. #totp 030
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Looks like police have found the body of that little boy, Noah. How unbelievably sad. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I wasn’t rooting for Leeds to win this but now I hope they score again and push Newcastle below us in the table. 110
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Nice assist from Morato in that West Ham goal. Happy for him. Also I missed that Joe Worrall moved to Wrexham. Thought he was at Burnley? #nffc 211
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 11/09/2026My family name is Henry but it’s these great-grandparents who chose name that in place of their original surname of Nargelkop, sometime after they moved to London from Warsaw at the turn of the 20th century. I have them to thank for that. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 11/09/2026I never felt close my Jewish family but since building my family tree on Ancestry and discovering that my great-grandparents were Hyman and Fanny I can’t think about much else. 120
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Drowning in the sea would be fitting except the RNLI would come to save them. 100
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Like many of you, I remember 9/11 as it happened. I was at work where we had a lot of TVs all tuned to the news, and our new boss was based in NYC so there was extra worry. We know so much about that day now but at the time it was just all so confusing and surreal. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Disappointing not to get 3 points today. The kids and I are going to the Coventry game in 2 weeks’ time so that’ll surely bring the team a much needed boost and a win at home for the first time in ages. #coyr #nffc 000

Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Not sure if it was justified doing a 20 minute goodbye but it was nice anyway. 000
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 31/08/2026One of my mum’s oldest friends died recently. Sadly mum’s dementia has caused so much confusion she’s seemingly indifferent which is really hard to witness. Mum isn’t really mum anymore.. she’s become a bitter, resentful person and I’m at a bit of a loss about how to deal with that. 000

Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 29/08/2026To cheer ourselves up about being home from holiday we’ve watched Hamnet. That did the trick. 110
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 29/08/2026A point’s a point. Didn’t see the game but happy with the result. #nffc 140
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Jolene is so deeply rooted in my mind today. What a brilliant song. The guitar lick is a thing of beauty and those harmonies are sublime. I feel more sad about Dolly today - just thinking about what a decent human being she was in a world full of egotists. 010
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Yes we went to Taormina last week. Visited the Greek theatre and then a bit of White Lotus location spotting. It’s so bloody hot I’m surprised I’m not crispy 😀 110
Simon @simon3862.bsky.social · 24/08/2026We did have Radio 4 on in the car the way home and listened to the 6pm news, just a minute and even a bit of the archers. You can take the lad out of England but… 001
