This was the most ass book. Four r-word scenes, explicit violence against women. STORIES MEANT TO EMPOWER WOMEN DO NOT ALL NEED TO EXPLICITLY DEPICT THE VIOLENCE THAT NECESSITATES EMPOWERMENT! There is a time and place for that, but this was tactless and cruel. Also the gay dies in the end. 1.5/5.

Ahh interesting, I’m glad to hear ur thoughts especially because I’ve only ever heard praise for utena. Im also really trying to find stories about women protagonists that don’t center around men or misogyny… we already have enough of that in the real world 🤷

Is it really that hard to find a SINGLE novel that doesn’t contain SA or harassment to women geez. I’ve tried three books in a row and just when I let my guard down OOPS R WORD! Ugh. If anyone has recs for good fiction please lmk. I’m desperate. Also r there sites for finding book content warnings?

don’t look too closely at this little sketch. had a weird day and the books i picked had some heavy sa scenes which are always difficult to handle. a maki a day keeps the misogynists away

[ #art | #signalis ] "Do you remember our promise?" 🖤🤍

Signalis Fanart. Elster in black armor is kneeling besides Ariane's bed, her head is on Ariane's stomach and she's desperately embracing her. Ariane's seems to be peacefully asleep. They're framed by computer chips. On the bottom of the illustration, an interpretation of "Die Toteninsel" by Böcklin. And on the top, "Dost thou recall our vow?" can be read.

I made this with so much anger in my heart thank you for coming to my ted talk #SIGNALIS

A doodle of a serious kolibri and a nervous storch with a lot of bold red text and arrows pointing at them saying: "KOLIBRI IS HER (pointing at storch) BOSS. HER SUPERIOR. Kolibris height is IRRELEVANT. storch would RESPECT her because she is THE LITERAL THOUGHT POLICE and her KOMMANDO. If storch doesn't RESPECT kolibri SHE DIES!!!!" There are more arrows pointing to Storch being the subordinate and to Kolibri being the boss.

stretch leg reaaal far. Based very roughly Gladocephaloideus shapes and vibes.

A pterosaur with a white pycnofiber, feather-hair covered body, with grey-purple wing membranes, a black tipped tail, and black going half way up its neck and up onto its head. Its face is exposed break-like tissue, bright orange fading to grey-purple, with a red cheek and red eyelids. Its landed, stretching one leg out, with its eyes closed.

Ty ty I grew up in the state so it’s home to me. Maki’s whole story is about destroying patriarchy, and to see a woman with such bulk be such a badass heroine in mainstream anime is so awesome.

For what it's worth, this is just a style test before I actually try anything out with it, so it's still very rough around the edges and, to be honest, pretty ugly. #SIGNALIS #signalisfanart
