Alt text doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just 5-10 words that explain what you wanted people to know about. You don't need to describe everything unless it's relevant. And alt text doesn't need to be written in formal writing style either! Just chill.

Just listened to How to Fix the Internet's new episode feat Molly White. She made an awesome criticism of blockchain's distribution of compute passing as distribution of power, and argued for passionate, open web communities like Neopets, Wikipedia.

Podcast Episode: Love the Internet Before You Hate On It
There’s a weird belief out there that tech critics hate technology. But do movie critics hate movies? Do food critics hate food? No! The most effective, insightful critics do what they do because they...

Here’s a super useful guide from Texas Tribune for tracking state bills this legislative cycle. www.texastribune.org/2025/05/2…

Brought my 16mm direct animation loop, Petal Film, to bring your own beamer night at dadalab last Friday. Was fun to dust off the project and show off some film work again.

If more people decline face scans, TSA might rethink “whether it’s actually effective to roll out programs like these,” EFF’s Saira Hussain told @huffpost.com. Without pushback, they're "just going to keep instituting more and more invasive techniques.”

Why You Can (And Should) Opt Out Of TSA Facial Recognition Right Now
Do you really want to be submitting a face scan to the current U.S. government?

Integrating the banger article quoted below and all the cogent commentary into a new intro on the “No genAI” statement I attach to all my work.
“There was no generative Al used at any stage of this project, including concept and ideation stages. People who use genAl are cheap, creatively stagnant weirdos and even in "rough draft, just brainstorming concepts" stages it looks and reads like shit.
As a disabled working artist who depends on my creative work to support myself in all material ways, I am staunchly opposed to the environmental and existential threats that generative Al poses at its current scale of unchecked growth, its untrammeled contributions to misinformation, and the erosion of quality creative work, labor rights, and critical
thinking that it has proven to be.”

I got a specific itch to scratch and am on the lookout for a: Solo TTRPG with a GAMEY feel to it, a little less journally (not a judgement i play journaling games literally all the time) dark, macabre vibes - the weirder the better preferably? designed by QTPOC designer(s) Self promotion VERY OK!
