Last one, today is Absent Presence! Definitely pleasant, but to my nose the most “generic nice perfume” of the bunch. I definitely get some of the bergamot, jasmine, and violet- and as it fades, the base notes get a bit more noticeable; sandalwood, cedar, and amber.

Today is Iron Duke, another fantastic name. Warm and fragrant and spicy, I can definitely get some of the soapy tones from the heart notes and the hay and gunpowder from the base notes. I quite like it but I don’t think it’s as readily identifiable as Tonnerre or Terror & Magnificence.

A strikingly powerful fragrance with animalic depths, Iron Duke Eau De Parfum revels in and blurs the man / beast dichotomy.
The fragrance creates an apparition of horse and rider: bright metal, cognac, snuff and saddle soap atop a base of oud, animalic leather and hay.
THE WEARING EXPERIENCE
Top Notes: Tobacco, Metal, Alcohol, Cambodian Oud, Star Anise Opens sharply with dry tobacco, metallic notes and an intoxicating boozy presence.

Today is Rake and Ruin, because it sounds very romantasy. It’s pleasant- more to my taste than Acrasia, but not at the personal highs of Tonnerre or Terror & Magnificence. I can get some of the juniper, coriander, orange, pine, and sandalwood. Maybe smells like a delicious book store? I like it!

Today is Acrasia, which is a word meaning lack of self control or acting against self interest- Not my personal favorite, maybe a little too floral for my nose. Can definitely smell the bergamot, cinnamon, rose, geranium, amber, and vanilla. It definitely smells good, just less to my taste.

Yesterday was Terror and Magnificence, which I have to admit, I really loved. I don’t think I even have the vocabulary to describe it yet- I could definitely get some of the incense, tobacco, and I think I tend to enjoy vetiver.

Terror & Magnificence Eau De Parfum. Contrasting darkness with invigorating complexity, Terror & Magnificence takes its inspiration from the notorious Georgian architect Nicholas Hawksmoor.

Here’s Tonnere, which in the past I’ve described as smelling like “a battle at sea”- gunpowder and sea salt and oil. Which I personally love. It’s a bit warmer on the skin, smelling a bit like a rich scotch whisky.

Inspired by historical relics and the darkly evocative stories that surround them, Tonnerre Eau de Parfum employs bold ingredients in extremely high concentrations to conjure a uniquely powerful olfactory experience.
Accords of smoke, gunpowder, blood and brandy combine with sea spray and a penetrating citrus note. Singularly bold in its composition, yet ultimately refined, provocative and unique.

I've been trying to get back to some old hobbies of mine that used to bring me joy- I got BeauFort London's Tonnerre a decade ago as a bonus in a sample kit from Twisted Lily, and wanted it back. It doesn't disappoint- smoky and salty and delicious as ever!

You’ll find me hanging out with all the Bangboos in Roscaelifer and generally trying to keep my head down. I think my survival odds are pretty high, but if something happens it’ll definitely be large, dramatic, and unavoidable. Unless I get pulled into a main story as an NPC, then all bets are off.

It flew against the windows a bit, so I pulled down the curtains and left the patio door wide open while Jess shepherded with a towel, and it quickly flew off, leaving its (deceased) prey behind for us to dispose of. Distant picture of the offender where it rested for about 5 minutes after.
