Da geet no 12 Joer Geplangs den neie #Cactus zu Lalleng op, supposé top of the art. 800 blénkeg nei Parkplazen op 2 Stäck iwwer déi ganz Surface. A fir Leit mam Vëlo? 5 schappeg Wheelbender, déi den éischten Dag gläich voll waren; net iwwerdaacht an näischt fir Cargobikes. #Yuppi: peut mieux faire!

Suggestive bike lanes of just 1.25 m are far too narrow for safe and comfortable cycling. They even invite drivers to overtake dangerously close — we need complete infrastructure, not half-baked concepts

The planned bike lane on Kirchberg for the tram extension (K2A) is once again not continuous. This fragmented design creates conflict between cyclists and pedestrians. If we’re serious about sustainable mobility, we need coherent planning—not another patchwork solution

Missed opportunity: @yurikobackes.bsky.social didn’t respond to the criticism of the narrow 1.50 m bike lanes on CR154. It would’ve been the right moment to rethink and improve the project. In 🇳🇱, 2 m is the new norm – Luxembourg still has a long way to go for safe cycling.

I’m glad they are starting to add red asphalt, but 1.25m is very tight to ride on. Drivers will pass cyclists very closely and disregard the minimum passing distance. That’s why in 🇳🇱 they’ve recently increased the width of the bike lanes in rural roads to 2m.

Connecting cycling networks to existing car and public transport networks creates wins for everyone. People can extend the first- and last-mile of their journeys, traffic is reduced with more people choosing the bike and cities can free up public space in cities.

Why do Dutch railways invest in shared bikes? 54% of users ride the train more often because of its availability. Without OV-fiets, 8% would use a car instead of the train. Every euro returns up to €2,40 in societal benefits, with improved accessibility, congestion, and health and safety outcomes.
