I am unable to use anything stock, so I of course replaced my topper with a custom one I had lying around. surprisingly annoying to do since you gotta unscrew the entire bottom panel.

one really weird choice they made is the use of a frosted plexi where the screen is, so it's always blurry

most interesting part is these extra 24mm holes above the top row. don't currently see a way to hook them up, nor is there a plexi that supports them atm, but theoretically the space is made for two extra buttons.

detail shots of the guts, for the interested parties lots of space, standard cable management, a bunch of daughter boards for the function buttons

here's a peek at the spinner without the knob I hid an Andor Genesis beneath it and yeah you can switch them out for standard size knobs

110

amr al-aaser @siegarettes.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I did peek at the pcbs for those curious. It's a gp2040 breakout board with an arduino programed to used the spinner as a mouse. those go into another board that handles the combined output and USB stuff

amr al-aaser @siegarettes.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

dang the spinner on this is nice, but I wish it wasn't mapped as a separate input device because it really limits what you can use it for it uses an omrom encoder, for anyone curious I've seen similar ones used in sound voltex controllers

seems like the prongs on one of the joysticks snapped in transit and will need to be replaced. currently taped it back together, but I've asked for a replacement part and will see what happens.

[Fightbox R10-Dual Flight] got a very nice looking, very niche controller in today. put together the art from arcade cabinet art, ripped sprites and maps of the game. unfortunately...

the custom buttons on my Mavercade controller were getting worn, so I refreshed them with a new set straight from the source so far they feel very smooth and the color matches nicely left is new, right is old

the whole thing revolves around retconning the history of symbiotes as a creation of an ultimate evil that existed before existence, and checking the metal head checkboxes by tying it to Thor and Norse mythology also Venom's symbol isnt a spider its a dragon

amr al-aaser @siegarettes.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

i finished the King in Black arc in the Venom comics im sorry to say it is as whack as it sounded. this alt cover of the of the writer's evil OC drawn by him is pretty good tho. it conveys the energy of the thing pretty well.
