Cosmic horror, weird fiction, continental philosophy, psychedelia in all its forms. NOTE: Saxon is to honour the late great Sky Saxon and is not a cypher for any of that Blut und Boden nonsense.

What a cool and inspiring read. The Gen X demographic rock on so many levels. The recent anti-trans shift is just one more obstacle to overcome and I’ve no doubt they will overcome with bravery, wit and panache. More power to these fabulous individuals

Great read from the intro of Albion Dreaming which details the British experience of LSD from its early days through the 60s and 70s Not read it myself but this has certainly whetted my whistle for the book and some LSD 🤓 psychedelicpress.substack.com/p/glad-i-too...

Oblique Strategies I’m shit at stats but my wife drew a card, returned it to the deck, which I shuffled, and then drew the same card. Not sure how many cards are in the deck but if 60, is the stat 1 in 60x60? So 1 in 3600?

I’ll never forget the time I got hold of Sky Saxon’s hand while he was singing & wouldn’t let go till I got my photo haha Or the time we got backstage in Manchester, he flirted mercilessly with our partners then got picked up by my mate and carried around in a celebratory hug haha what a guy

AllMusic Staff Pick The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band Vol. 3: A Child's Guide to Good & Evil This psychedelic folk rock band has the trappings of its flower power era, and can take a few spins to attune to because of those sometimes heavy-handed production moves and political overtones.

Hmmm, that’s a difficult ask as his output is so massive. My personal favourite is The City in the Autumn Stars but that’s 2nd in a series (although can be read as a standalone). The 1st in the series is The War Hound and the World’s Pain so maybe start there as that’s great too.

100% agree. Their outrage at the embedding of known Nazis criminals into the CIA & military-industrial complex is palpable. As a GenX-er I knew a some of this stuff but I’m hoping the newer generations are picking up on this. It explains a lot about recent trends in Western society.
