Game programming patterns help! You might work more confidently when a new behavior is just an additional class, but i’m OOP-mindset infected so like take it with a grain of Java

If you do want more of a "status effect", try making a strategy class, it could have a "canTick" boolean function that will validate being on water and a "Tick" method that will apply the health effect. An orchestrator will then store, use and trigger the individual methods.

That sounds like a great way to introduce an event dispatcher on your player and some type of script that listens to the "water tick" event. After it triggers it will command a health change, this will make it more modular. That way any player that can't swim just needs the event listener.

See this in contrast to social media, you can make thousands of people see your art within minutes, hope for likes and whatnot. And yet, you can also make something you will never see or own again, and learn to care that it may just reach a single person. And oddly enough it feels the same way.

I hesitated a lot. It’s a shame to also have the other thought “what if that other one was never found, it could’ve landed in the trash, or maybe it flew away and got destroyed”. But i suppose you can only trust the process, and maybe it doesn’t have to succeed. Believing in success is enough.

You know- thinking back, i really did love these three artworks that i left in Tokyo. But i believe as an artist one should be willing to let go. You’re always privileged to be able of creating thousands of your own art pieces. Maybe someone else will love it too, but they will only need one.

Arrived in Tokyo! Wow, Akihabara really is something.. i’ll be at Tokyo Game Show for business reasons, it’s my first time in Japan. Everything feels so surreal to me- it’s quite the culture shock. Everything is loud and overstimulating. But duuude the food is great.

The issue is that they purposely brick devices, their data and potentially salvageable hardware because of a stupid cryptographic lock that is software-only and barely ever hardware-related just stinks. Especially things like iCloud locked hardware is incredibly unfair.

(With original hardware i mean the motherboard that the sensors are permanently coupled to, or the other way around, where the motherboard rejects a part that is already coupled with a different board)

What absolutely pisses me off is that a working Apple-original sensor is entirely worthless now. It’s bricked if the original hardware isn’t present. For now the 14 Pro needs these: - LiDAR (JCID) The 16 Pro: - Front camera (this one apparently does keep FaceID) - Proximity flex (JCID)

A JCID V1SE (+ Wifi version) is absolutely enough to get the Job done. These go for around 90-120€ the replacement sensors each around 20-40€ and the modules to connect the sensors to the programmer are also around 20-50€ After flashing the phone’s firmware it will be coupled again.

The result? The overall phone usage experience is absolutely impacted and it would probably land in the trash. Apple forces you to get replacement parts on their parts service website for ungodly prices. The only other solution is to use third party programmers and compatible sensors.

Features like FaceID, the measurement tape app, the screen turning off while close to your ear in a call, and various smaller features fail if these sensors aren’t detected. The issue is that Apple does NOT give you a way to reset or couple these used sensors whatsoever.

Apple still secretly stops some parts from being repaired. One of them being the LiDAR module (15 Pro and older) and the other being the proximity + floodlight sensor. They are cryptographically coupled to the motherboard and cannot be reinstated through the Apple Repair Assistant.

Okay! First update: The iPhone 14 Pro works now with a new motherboard. This cost me 180€ which was way too much. We can now say both phones are way over my budget and they still need fixes. I take it as a learning fee. Let me talk about some secrets Apple doesn’t want you to know…

Update: the board might be impossible to salvage, some EEPROM IC had been missing the entire time. I’ve marked some anomalies on the picture, the pads are missing and it’s probably impossible to fix. I found a decent offer for another board, i just have to see if it’s functional before i buy it.

Had an argument with my cousin who is a master of psychology who said i was wrong about “science being all about proving things wrong”, i explained the scientific method, then she said i don’t have a degree in science. I’m a programmer who studied CS and unit tests are empiric theorems HELP
