You know- thinking back, i really did love these three artworks that i left in Tokyo. But i believe as an artist one should be willing to let go. You’re always privileged to be able of creating thousands of your own art pieces. Maybe someone else will love it too, but they will only need one.

Arrived in Tokyo! Wow, Akihabara really is something.. i’ll be at Tokyo Game Show for business reasons, it’s my first time in Japan. Everything feels so surreal to me- it’s quite the culture shock. Everything is loud and overstimulating. But duuude the food is great.

Decided to switch back to Windows today, i noticed i haven’t been using my PC at all with Linux and i do need the software for my audio interface, camera, and graphics tablet if i want to stream so.. Yeah, it was a nice experience though i guess.

Update: the board might be impossible to salvage, some EEPROM IC had been missing the entire time. I’ve marked some anomalies on the picture, the pads are missing and it’s probably impossible to fix. I found a decent offer for another board, i just have to see if it’s functional before i buy it.

I did everything i needed to do, ended up stuck in this situation. The 70€ iPhone 14 Pro that i rebuilt entirely (new chassis, new display) is stuck in a bootloop. The issue? The NAND is likely dead. Reflow didn’t work. Now i‘m not DosDude1, i cant just swap NAND chips… but what if i COULD??

It works!! However.. uhm some good and bad news The good - It runs great, 100% battery health! - The new main camera is recognized! (Yay) The bad - Front camera is busted - Face ID might not work ever again - The screen gets rejected because the original proximity flex is broken Urgh..

Another Repair project. This one was CHEAP. Take a look at this iPhone 14 Pro- it looks hopeless.. right?? It fell down a 6 story building!! And guess what: the motherboard still works, just like the 16 Pro that got run over.

sidpoke the last phone frame bender I got it back into shape but the main camera definitely needs to be replaced, the shards scratched the lenses badly and it’s not worth saving. A new main camera isn’t that expensive so i just ordered that too. Spare parts are coming in on Monday!

New repair project!! Take a look at this iPhone 16 Pro- A CAR DROVE OVER IT! And it STILL WORKS. Poor thing isn’t even a year old. The plan? Well.. new back cover, new main camera, new display, new NFC + flash + wireless charging flex cable.. Gonna keep you updated!

Done!!! It works so well!! The Amiga 2000 Recap was a success, it also has a CR2032 battery holder now. The battery acid leak was neutralized, it’ll last for a very long time now. This thing will be 40 years old next year 🤯 What should i do next? A Gotek drive? PiStorm 2K with HDMI mod?

I have too much game dev advice but one thing i can definitely recommend is to not let view-related components depend on game rules. Buttons should only signal events and not directly own logic, a Node/MonoBehavior should delegate logic execution to a service/component/stateful container, etc.

Only 16 resistors to replace! I also have to clean the inside and the floppy drives so it’ll be a while till it runs again, but i’m getting stuff done one session at a time. If things go well the Amiga 2000 will be the best it has been for a long time.

Here’s the Amiga 2000 Rev6.2 board, i just removed the battery and neutralized the spill with vinegar and IPA, now gonna clean it up and check some connections. I see someone tried to fix the A/V RCA out and the solder joints are kinda loose. Recap and battery replacement is next.

Retro hardware should not be this expensive. A Compaq Armada for 200€, IBM Aptiva for 400€ - these things run on a freaking Pentium and like 32MB of RAM. I swear, there’s people on ebay who sell Core2Duo machines for 200€ and say it runs Windows 98
