So this is the first stab at figuring out the size/technique,etc. I’ll start fixing the bees to the acrylic pane tomorrow. I think I’ll have to work larger and I might need more than one species of bee. Also want to make them 3D. This is a portrait of Bill Anderson, CEO of Bayer AG, killer of bees.

Years before that I arrived home from school on the bus, to a tiny temporary condo we stressfully squeezed into for at least a year longer than intended. The entire outdoor staircase I climbed to our door was covered in Monarch butterflies

On a family Oregon coast trip last month and picked a slightly still closed wild rose for my mom, walked a few feet a way holding it carefully, peaked inside and there was a bumble bee. Truly sleeping inside the rose I’d picked
