A victory for the government in this case would greenlight long-term mass civil detention at a level not seen since Japanese internment during WWII. It would represent the largest change in how the US treats immigrants facing removal since 1996, and remind us again that the 96 law must be erased.

I only specified liberal because the OP was talking about rising antisemitism on the left. But you’re well aware of that. I think all flavors of Zionism/the Zionist conflation of Jews and Judaism with the state of Israel are contributing to the rise of antisemitism, across the political spectrum.

If "guilt by association" wasn't effective it wouldn't be deployed to smear the innocent. Zionists work to conflate Israel and Jews because they think it will help their cause. Zionists are not a vulnerable group. Zionism is an ideology whose proponents will often conflate Israel with all Jews to shield themselves from criticism of their goal to expand the ethnostate. It’s not only despicable to weaponize claims of antisemitism in this way but it also makes Jews less safe.

Antisemitism is absolutely a problem and the full-spectrum of the left needs to work to stamp it out.
