I see Bluesky is showing its tolerance again. I just don’t get the view that Twitter is full of Nazis (yeah there are some, you don’t have to follow) but Bluesky is full of good people. Some of the worst opinions come from here.

Nah I just don’t believe “Stop Financing Factory Farming” is entirely neutral. I’ll remove beef and coffee from my diet first and focus on finding the lowest CO2 and ignoring local producers. Poultry / pigs are ok. Better than beef, cheese, chocolate and coffee.

Delighted. When people talk about the BMA and Cass I really worry but it’s heartening to see the activists aren’t in charge of the BMA. Children are being protected from puberty blockers and trans activists. They found nothing wrong with the Cass Review.

Something to ponder is also can we just eat low carbon beef? Yes, 10% of worldwide production is 9kgCO2 not 25 kgCO2. Which makes it better than shrimp and lamb. It’s not one number. It’s a range of results and consumer choice can alter the average.

I was struck by this defence by a doctor how he just dismissed palatability issues. Almost sneering. Personally I think skimmed milk is disgusting. No idea if we should ban 2% fat milk in favour of lower fat unpalatable milk.

By virtually any measure, trans activism has failed in the US. It has proven itself a decisively losing electoral issue, been repudiated by the Supreme Court, lost the culture war, alienated a majority of society, and caused public opinion to turn against trans people. Trans activism ignited a trans backlash — one whose flames now threaten to consume LGBT rights more broadly. As a result, many political moderates are now quietly backing away from trans issues. Nobody wants to be burned again. But trans activism was only a losing issue because it was pursued by extremist bullies within the framework of a radical and authoritarian far-left ideology. Critical social justice monopolized trans activism and sucked all the oxygen out of the room, giving the impression that their methods and beliefs were the only way to advocate for trans people. This is not so. A non-dogmatic, non-zero-sum, philosophically liberal approach to trans rights is not only possible, it is essential now more than ever.
