Belief propagation is reshaping how we think about tensor networks, and now it can be improved systematically. Check it out! “PEPS is hard” may be becoming less absolute. Using these techniques in practice? I’d love to hear what works, what doesn’t, and where they break down.

Just posted our latest work on quantum "radiation" metrology! We investigate how the information radiated by an open quantum system can be harnessed to learn about its dynamics. Check it out here: arxiv.org/abs/2504.13815

Metrology of open quantum systems from emitted radiation
We explore the task of learning about the dynamics of a Markovian open quantum system by monitoring the information it radiates into its environment. For an open system with Hilbert space dimension $D...

Yeah this should be done, it’s really crazy to sort through in the current state. “Many-body theory” should be a category, “Tensor Networks and Classical Simulation Methods” could be another.

Decided to post interesting (recent) papers here. Let’s see how long I can keep this up. An interesting take on measurement induced entanglement in a free-fermion chain via a local jump unravelling: arxiv.org/pdf/2411.13667
