Nuance: change by itself does not fix anything; improvement does. Hopefully. Seen too many 'change for the sake of change' attempts at fixing things, and change without a plan/vision usually just gets you deeper in the mud. That said: I don't disagree. Just not sure firing during the season helps.

Our municipality/provincial taxes go up as well, and some are matched with the valuation of the property, but they have nothing to do with the mortgage (payments)/lender, and the rise is gradual. The loan repay/interest parts on the mortgage change over time, but the net payment is pretty constant.

That's insane. In NL/🇳🇱, when you get a mortgage, you get a loan & monthly payment based on the value at the time of buying (and interest %). Higher value later on doesn't lead to higher monthly payments. Why would it? There taxes that are connected to changes in property value, but that's it.
