In the OCG Neo-Spacians *should* count as Neos cards, however they have received a Special Ruling saying they don't because of the TCG name containing a hyphen. This is the only case in the game where the OCG is subordinate to TCG names.

The fake solution is "4 card extra deck", the real solution is "man, you should've gotten used to this by now", and the *real* real solution is we call Mika and let him handle this

Yes, but I'd also want it to be an environment where the dogshit recursors like the Stylus are still powerful picks, it'd be a fine needle to thread. I'll probably end up building two of these, a lower powered more accessible Bar Cube that you can just pick up and jam, and "The Bullshit; For Sickos"

I've been thinking about building my own 15 Card Highlander cube for a while, there's a lot in the format I find super appealing. Getting to support archetypes with way fewer slots in the cube, having to be extremely intentional during deckbuilding, every deck can turn into doomsday, sick sick stuff

I dont think it's especially common that a band's most popular single is even that good, so I'm considering it a blessing that Feel Good Inc is basically the greatest song ever made

The worst part of going to the dentist isn't the holistic utter sensory hell that always goes on longer than you'd like, as much as the awareness that if I had brushed more during the year this wouldn't be happening The second worst part is that I will not learn my lesson

It's kind of a domesticated version of case law if you think about it: you get to lose yourself in arcane documents and get into spirited debates about what the proper exegesis and timeline should be, but completely deprived of all the systems of powers and the possibility of ruining someone's life.

I ended up making a reddit post about it just to archive and share my findings old.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/c... And sure in the thread I play up the frustration, but the truth of the matter is that this whole thing is crazy fun, and finally getting to the bottom of a question is just exhilarating

Towards the end of 2021 someone on discord told me that they heard that Balance and Black Knight in the 90s used to have a very strange interaction and wanted to know if that was true. I proceeded to spend something like three whole days trawling through archived usenet conversations from 1994.

YuGiOh is actually like a fucked up and twisted parody of how this would work, instead of various rulesets originating organically through debate and common agreement across players and organizers, regional differences still come from above, but through an inscrutable black box of company infighting

Do you prefer Spanish or Turkish rules for missing targets? You need to try the Chinese variants, the way they handle combat is so interesting. Did you hear about how this ruling works in Ireland? It's mad stuff, imagine the implications if it worked that way here. How different metas would be!

There's this paragraph in the original 1993, I've been thinking about it for like seven years or something. It makes me imagine a decentralized game, where various regions would have their own rulebooks and special rulings, like chess before the 19th century. It's a world I'd like to explore

I really like this painting from one of the local churches 'cause the artist unmistakably just asked a few random guys he knew to pose as the models for the apostles. Why yes, I *have* always imagined Peter to look like a middle aged southern italian barfly, why do you ask
