Humans matter MORE in the AI world. The fact AI has been proven to lie (hallucinate) and tell us what we want to hear is precisely why we need to lend more credibility to legitimate sources. Imagine reading an article written while the journalist was on LSD!

I could maybe see "pay in the short term while converting to renewables". But Asia was very smart to become the #1 supplier of renewable infrastructure. So why would they ever intentionally become reliant on an external supplier when we see that risk coming to fruition in North America.

I'd go 1 step further. I moved out of Vancouver (BC entirely) because I do not like the way Vancouver/ICBC is handling this. I voted with my tax dollars and I suspect/hope others will do the same if the victim blaming continues.

Idea for a tattoo to remember this time in my life: A line on my arm with arrows on either end. "Forward" in Sicilian above the line, "backward" in Sicilian below the line. Being on the arm it signifies that anywhere is forward or backward depending where you look or point.

Find an example where this has gone well. Infrastructure and citizen services should never be private because no one should profit from critical infrastructure/service. I get why I happened in the early 1900s but I'd like to believe we've learned those hard lessons by now.

Someone I know works in NHS data. They're were doing a lot of it already but someone drank the "migrate to cloud" Kool-Aid so it's all going to cloud storage and apps, like Plantir, without any very good justification or planning. NHS already owns data centers but they're paying MS instead.
