How refreshing it is that a First Lady isn’t being accused of being a man or a lesbian. She simply posed semi-nude working here illegally to be given a “genius” visa. It’s also good she’s not subject to Stephen Miller’s requirement that one speak English flawlessly and without an accent.

Just as the Oval Office reveals the character of its occupant, these years have told us what I didn’t want to know or hear; that a huge number of us are awful people - gleeful about or indifferent to the suffering of others. Someone else said it, but I am horrified that others are not horrified.

This is a “Never Forget” moment in world history. I say this to Western Europeans as a really pissed off American (at my gov’t): do you still believe the US would immediately and swiftly respond via Article 5 to a Russian attack? If yes, I have a reflecting pool to sell you. Needs some work.

Interesting idea. Or impose a (very) non-trivial toll on American commercial vehicles.

It’s outrageous on so many levels. Musk and Trump truly are Vichy Republicans.

A particularly excellent piece by Rex Huppke in USA Today. Not just about the new WH Press Secretary, but who we believe we are as a nation. www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

This is fucking outrageous. Dozens if not more people will die every day because of this decision. The President is a Vichy Republican having decided to side with Putin.

It probably loses that certain ‘je ne sais crois’ when not worn during an invasion and associated pillaging.

As I understand it, the tank farms are like coffee urns - where the bottom contains some (unknown) quantity of sludge - effectively unusable oil. The amounts being extracted have gone down steadily as you can see from this report, which is admittedly a few weeks old.

The possible exception being when said snack was yogurt on a summer’s day. But then, that’s glass half-empty thinking, isn’t it. I should consider the increased biome after a day in the car.

And in Oklahoma, we make them read about it from one of the most expensive Bibles available on the market … the Trump Bible. All while the Sec’y of Education is transported by a convoy of armored personnel vehicles complete with paramilitary troops. No joke.

‘Putin must have something on Trump…’

LBC didn’t share the name of the interviewee, but it is none other than General Sir Richard Shirreff (former Deputy Supreme Commander of NATO). His words are jarring but well worth the listen. youtube.com/watch?v=ZMC5...

It’s that second piece of advice about poisoners I’ll file away for future reference.

So incredibly cool. I wish reproductions were available. Thank you for sharing.

Maybe there will be contempt proceedings. They could give an absolute rip about those. What's the worst that will happen to them? Seriously.

I’m not British. But I heard James O’Brien on LBC recently refer to someone as a ‘tent peg.’ That to me sounds about right for Farage, but you tell me.

Biden needs to stop pussyfooting around: Sen. Cotton

This video from 2023 is 4 minutes long and features Senator Tom Cotton talking about how Biden was “pussyfooting” around with ending the Ukraine War. Cotton has barely made mention of the war since then. My how Republicans have changed their tune since this interview. youtube.com/watch?v=RAmh...

I’m completely out of my depth here. It’s beautiful. What are we looking at?

I’m bracing myself for the price they agreed upon per barrel in this purchase. It could potentially be far higher than market price. And how would we ever know?

The summary version, perhaps more plainly said (imho), portends a longer period of time of higher gas prices than is being broadcast to the public.

For some reason I’m reminded of when then-Senator James Imhofe of OK took to the floor and declared that 93% of all Planned Parenthood funding went to abortions. It’s less than 3%. His staff released a statement saying that his words “weren’t intended to be factually accurate.” No joke.

As the British might say, he truly is a tent peg.
