"Weird"? It makes perfect sense! If you hate cats, there's a red flag immediately. For exactly the reasoning you described, and the exact effects as well, are why when someone tells me they hate cats, I am wary immediately. My dad didn't like cats, SOLELY because of allergies. And THAT is fair.
