I lost half a novel once. It was on a flash drive that most likely ended up flushed down a toilet (very long story). Ended up rewriting what was lost using notes and handwritten scraps and honestly, it turned out so much better than the original version.

I definitely starts slow. I picked it up and put it down twice, then finally made myself read the first 60 pages. Just as I was ready to give up for good, it got REALLY good. I'm halfway through #2 now.

I definitely see Threads as having the stronger real-world "activist" focus. I will say, though, that Bluesky has given me a lovely writer community. I think I like how the two sides are still more or less separate, because I have that little bit of temporary escapism built in for when I need it.
