Æthersphere "The Syzygy complete, the professor had released his assistant from his service, let him return to their camp and leave the excited old scholar to his arithmetic in their tent within the old ruin. It was only after finishing his dinner did the boy realize he'd not yet returned."

A scary looking beastial form, cloaked in the ruins of a tent and made of "borrowed" flesh, lurches into the light. Within the pits of its eyes, within its flayed skull-head, crimson lights shine bright.

Text beside the image, completing the text on the post, reads:

"Then, after long hours of waiting, the sounds of brushing grasses and deep breaths and heavy awkward footfalls

"P-professor!? I-is that you?!"

The assistant shouted into the darkness beyond the warding circle of his torchligh, his voice waivering only slightly. Hearing no reply, just more shuffling footfalls, he took in breath to shout again, then felt his words curl into an abortive squeak.

From the dark loomed a pair of crimson embers burning atop a towering, rag-cloaked, shape. It was shuddering mass of canvas wrapped flesh that dragged itself into his torchlight, swaddled in a cloak the same color and texture as their tent in the ruin, held tight to its side by a hand with skin as pink as a newborn.

<Ah...The Assistant...My Assistant...So Good...To See you>

The voice was deep, gravely with phlegm, conjured without movement from within lolling wolf’s jaws.

<Don't be frightened...Come here Assistant...There is much… work to do>

He wanted to run, to flee, to scream and cry for help, but was so frozen in terror he could only manage to take a step back and say.

"W-wh-what in the hells are you!?"

The thing shuffled closer and he couldnt help but gasp, gaging at the stench of fresh blood that clung close to it. He retched, then stood to run, but looking up found the things gaze and found he could not run, could not look away, could not turn from the burning embers within the skinless animal skull of its head as it craned down to stare into his soul.

It's broken jaw seemed to smile.

A Post-Imperial Sky-Fort on a small island in the lower levels of The Work Recently upgraded with a 6 Cell Anti-ship torpedo array, it's ancient and once fearsome anti-ship batteries are now secondary weapons, only there to deter close assault.
