Hailou did not say anything. But he shuffled closer to Haixia.

"I could…sing you a song?" Haixia said, consideringly. He had never been sung to sleep. Perhaps nobody had the energy to do that, when he had been a baby and when his parents still maybe cared. But it was a thing that people did, wasn't it? Sadly, Haixia didn't know any songs. So he thought for a moment longer and said, "I can read to you a poem I found in a book today? But you can't tell shifu about it, I took it from her locked cupboard."

Someone on XHS asked "does Hailou wear glasses because he has myopia or because he thinks it's cool" and someone answered "he wore glasses after he became an archives agent because he felt he's made it, but when later told he's a low-ranking agent and cannot bury his brother, he never wore it again"

This scene is so important for my health. Look at Haixia with his hands tucked into his pockets like he is out for a stroll. Look at those loose ropes. Look at Hailou touching Haixia's arm as though to reassure him that he is now safe from the baddies, like Haixia couldn't kill them in 2 seconds.
