We have an unwritten start by 7:15 rule for a get online by 7 game. Most of us get online between 6:45 and 7 to facilitate being ready to start by 7:15

Right just this week, party went to a spot in the forest where there are two unmoving, seemingly dead trees creating an arch. One character walks through. . . And vanishes

Every child should get to imagine a closet as a space full of things, or a space for make believe or quiet.

That said, I'm considering writing down and collecting a vast array of information about chain mail (the armor) and chain weaving. Is anyone around here interested in the minutia of said endeavors?

I took a big break from social media because I was finding existential dread too crippling.

It's like artists are interested in being paid for their skill/labor just like accountants. Weird

I don't have any artificial deities currently, but we're doing a story set in post-capitalist Paris, and magic is resurfacing, which includes deities with power...

I'm annoyed that work is making me learn an "AI tool". I know what I need to know about it, which is that there's so much wrong with how it was created, how it's used and what it's doing to the planet that I want no part of it. But I also need to eat...

Shoryl @shoryl.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

That sounds really good, honestly

The nature of the relationships between gods and sentient species. What does sentience mean. What does moral governance look like

The only thing I like is the very obvious fake announcements and funny website things people/companies do for the day. That whimsical shit that's obvious and not punching anyone.

I don't generally use puzzles in my games, but when I do I try to make sure they're fairly solvable with one or two hints garnered from characters taking actions that can create opportunities (but also some hints are free because sucky rolls happen)

I would love that so long as it doesn't include the former guy in charge.

Now that I have a really cool book about building the underpinnings of a game universe, I'd love tips on mapmaking, NPC creation, and building dungeons.

That's super fun too! My players two favorite things are trying to figure out the media references for my character names, and face-palming when I hijack their ideas from three years ago.

I literally will quietly sit and let my players noodle about the mystery only half revealed or what might be next specifically to incorporate cool bits

In Aldirn, this is the Second Age of Gods. No one knows how long ago the first age was for sure. Because the gods of this age won't answer and it's been a long time as far as they're concerned. The ruins that exist at all are from the current age.

Ok, now I want to know more about both projects, like how to get a digital copy of Griots, and where to go to back five fires Which is long form for "take my money and do cool things"

It was the hardest thing I've ever done. In part coming to the realization that certain members of my family are never going to treat me like an adult. I'm in my fucking 50s. (That's not the only reason)

I won't lie, a part of her personality is based in my wife's voracious appetite for prose of all kinds.

There's a brass dragon who moved her library from the material plane to the fae wilds. She has forgotten how old she is. Her library is now so vast, it takes her a *day* to fly from one end to the other. She had to install a teleportation system for slower races who visit.

Tech call center in the 90s Xmas eve was the worst - parents trying to set up the computer from Santa - sleep dep and no idea what they were doing.

It's probably because the change was gradual.

Because of that, my villains have more range as well. They are nuanced - it was suggested once that the best villains are the heroes of their own story.

My worlds, which in my head are like the individual pieces of a beautiful stained glass image of the cosmos, only understand the concepts of gender and sexuality as things defined by the individual. There's not really queerness or transness as we think of them.

I love the one reaching out to the shadow. It reminds me a lot of pre-renaissance cherubic paintings.

This is all very cool. But... Might there be other very fancy one of a kind dice available? Asking fora friend (hopefully one who likes me enough to buy me expensive presents)

Assassin's Creed (original). The hoops I had to go through to try to get it to work that ultimately didn't fix the lag issues. I've never played through it because I was fighting the game more than the templars

Defending your Thanksgiving with “We don’t use it to celebrate genocide!” isn’t the issue. It’s still poison without a pilgrim hat. It’s the mindlessness. It’s the fact you eat a gluttonous meal on our stolen land while our access to food — our salmon, buffalo, corn — remains decimated. (1/3)

Good points. I tend to still vet any block lists that I can reasonably trust the source, like yourself. I just feel more comfortable knowing who or what content I'm blocking.

Exactly the same issue Minneapolis is facing. Except there's more restaurants open after 5. Just no great quick food options like delis We could convert all these office buildings to housing, put in actual businesses people need in place of half the coffee shops/chain restaurants...

I worked for years at several different cons in my area, and yeah, it's a lot of work for not much back. The big perk for one of them was an exclusive meet and greet with the GOH - sometimes rad (like listening to T Pratchett tell stories) but often not all that bc still 200 people in the room

One of my favorites was a masked ball my party were invited to. I had each of them design their own costumes, and describe them at the end of the session before the actual ball. Each player had a +1, whose costume I designed to go with theirs. It was so much fun to watch them through these reveals

It might not seem like it's part of a TTRPG project, but my wife got our private server, complete with a personal wiki, set up on the household network today. So now I can start massive world building in the Scattered Worlds universe.
